Outrageous Deal Adware

What is Outrageous Deal?
Outrageous Deal is a deceptive application created by SuperWeb LLC. According to the developers, this app improves the Internet browsing experience by displaying special deals and discounts on various online stores, providing coupons, and enabling features such as comparison shopping - "We're passionate about improving web by providing the best tools to enhance the browsing experience, from searching the web to comparing online deals to find the best prices. We've combined all of our great ideas into the Outrageous Deal product suite, a FREE set of tools that work to make your browsing experience... better!"
By offering this functionality, Outrageous Deal attempts to trick users into believing that it is a legitimate app. Outrageous Deal, however, is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). There are several reasons for these negative associations.
Firstly, Outrageous Deal often infiltrates systems without users’ permission. Furthermore, this bogus app generates intrusive online advertisements and continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity.
Outrageous Deal records various user/system information including unique identifier numbers, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (to determine geographic location), search queries entered into search engines (Bing, Yahoo, Google, etc.), websites visited, pages viewed, and other browsing-related data.
On initial inspection, this data may seem insignificant, however, it may contain personally identifiable details that SuperWeb LLC later shares with cooperating third party companies who are likely to misuse it to generate revenue. This behavior can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
Furthermore, Outrageous Deal generates banner, pop-up, interstitial, transitional, full-page, coupon, and search ads. Most redirect to various e-commerce sites (online stores, websites offering various services, etc.), however, they may also redirect to malicious web pages containing infectious content.
Thus, clicking them is risky and may lead to further adware or malware infections. These ads are delivered using a 'virtual layer', which enables placement of third party graphical content on any site visited.
The displayed ads conceal underlying content, thereby diminishing the Internet browsing experience. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall Outrageous Deal immediately.
Outrageous Deal Privacy Policy statement regarding data collection:
We only share or sell your non-public personal information with non-affiliated third parties when we believe doing so is permitted by you or authorized by this Privacy Policy. In addition, the Company may share your personal information with our parent, subsidiary or affiliate companies without restriction.
There are hundreds of identical PUPs developed by SuperWeb LLC (including, for example, Search Know, Primary Color, and Wooden Seal). This company releases identical applications under different names to prevent detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus suites.
The apps are designed only to generate revenue, and none provide the functionality promised. Outrageous Deal (and other similar apps) generate intrusive online advertisements (via the 'Pay Per Click’ [PPC] advertising model), and continually gather personally identifiable information (which is later sold to third party companies).
How did Outrageous Deal install on my computer?
All applications developed by SuperWeb LLC (including Outrageous Deal) are proliferated using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of third party apps with regular software/apps). Thus, many users install this app inadvertently.
This is due to a lack of attention paid by many users when downloading and installing software. Developers hide bogus applications within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings - by skipping this section, users expose their systems to risk of infection.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent installation of bogus programs, be attentive during download and installation of all software. Perform these processes using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical'. Rogue applications are often hidden. Therefore, only by closely analyzing each step and opting-out bundled software, will you be able to protect your system.
