Ads by Primary Color

What is Primary Color?
Primary Color is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) - a browser plug-in claiming to enable features such as coupons and comparison shopping to improve the Internet browsing experience. Primary Color may appear legitimate and useful, however, this browser add-on is categorized as adware.
The main reason for this negative association is a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of third party applications together with the chosen software) employed by Primary Color to install on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' permission.
Following successful infiltration, this rogue extension generates various intrusive online ads including banner, transitional, interstitial, coupon, pop-up, search, and full-page ads. Some of these ads might redirect to bogus websites, thereby exposing your computer to infection.
In addition, Primary Color records various Internet browsing-related information including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, unique identifier numbers, websites visited, search queries entered, pages viewed, and other information that might be personally identifiable.
Therefore, having Primary Color installed on your computer can lead to serious privacy issues or identity theft. The developers of this rogue add-on (SuperWeb LLC) have released several hundred identical browser add-ons under different names. Insider Deals, Shop Time, and Magic Ball are just some examples from a long list.
None provide any real value to the user. The purpose of Primary Color, and other plug-ins developed by SuperWeb LLC, is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected data with third parties. You are strongly advised to uninstall Primary Color from your system immediately.
Close examination of Primary Color adware reveals that it is often distributed via small programs called 'download clients' (also called 'installers', 'download managers', etc.) on freeware download websites such as soft32.com, download.com, and softonic.com.
These websites employ download clients to monetize their free services and traffic by offering installation of third party applications together with the users' chosen software. In some cases, additional applications are simply hidden within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options.
These applications are usually described as 'legitimate and virus-free', however, reckless download and installation of freeware risks system infection with adware or malware. To avoid this situation, closely analyse each step of the free software download procedure and never accept offers to install additional programs.
Furthermore, applications downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any third party apps listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If your computer is infected with Primary Color adware, follow the instructions below to eliminate this PUP from your system.
