Ads by DailyWiki

What is DailyWiki?
DailyWiki is presented as a legitimate application that provides various 'useful features', however, be aware that DailyWiki continually delivers intrusive online advertisements. Furthermore, it infiltrates the system and tracks Internet browsing activity. For this reason, DailyWiki is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
As with other regular adware, DailyWiki employs a 'virtual layer' to generate popular intrusive ads - banner, pop-up, etc. Many users are unaware that these do not originate from their visited websites. By overlaying web page content, ads generated by DailyWiki diminish the Internet browsing experience.
Most redirect to various e-commerce websites such as online stores, however, some redirect to infectious sites - clicking them is risky and might cause further adware or malware infections. Research shows that DailyWiki collects various browsing-related information (Internet Protocol [IP] addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, etc.) that might contain personal details.
The collected data is shared with third parties who can misuse it to generate revenue. This behavior could lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft, and therefore, you should uninstall DailyWiki adware immediately.
There are hundreds of potentially unwanted programs with similar behavior. For instance, toolCube, InstantSupport, ZipperNew, Loot Find, and Oasis Space also offer a number of useful features, however, rather than providing the functionality promised, adware-type programs continually generate intrusive online advertisements and track Internet browsing activity.
These applications are designed to generate revenue for the developers - they provide no significant value for users.
How did DailyWiki install on my computer?
This application is proliferated using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of additional software with regular software/apps. Developers hide potentially unwanted programs within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings, which are often skipped.
Many users do not expect rogue apps to be concealed - they rush the download and installation processes, resulting in inadvertent installation of bogus applications such as DailyWiki.
The developers are concerned only with the amount of revenue generated (which is dependent on the number of PUPs generated), therefore, there is no reason for them to properly disclose installation of apps such as DailyWiki.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Most PUPs are hidden, and for this reason, the download and installation processes should not be rushed. To protect your system from adware-type infections, closely analyze both of these processes using the 'Custom/Advanced' settings and opt-out of all bundled software listed for installation.
