Dezipper Toolbar

What is Dezipper?
Dezipper is a deceptive application that supposedly provides users with file compress/decompress functionality - "Easy file compressions - performed through the Dezipper toolbar and supporting application.". These false claims are used to trick users into believing that Dezipper is a legitimate and useful browser extension.
In fact, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted browser-hijacking program. Following successful infiltration, Dezipper modifies Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox browser settings, and tracks Internet browsing activity.
This browser hijacker assigns the default search engine, homepage, and new tab URL settings to the ask.com website. In addition, it installs a number of browser plug-ins and apps that prevent users from rolling back these changes.
In doing so, Dezipper causes unwanted browser redirects without users' consent, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience. Dezipper is developed to gather various Internet browsing-related information. This app continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity and collects various information that can be personally identifiable.
This collected data is later shared with third parties and can be misused to generate revenue. Thus, having Dezipper installed on your system could lead to various privacy issues. For these reasons, we strongly recommend that you uninstall Dezipper immediately.
The developers of Dezipper (Mindspark Interactive Network) have released tens of identical rogue apps such as MergeDocsOnline, ListingsPortal, and EasyMailLogin. Although these toolbars offer different features, all have identical behavior.
All applications developed by this company give fake promises simply to trick users to install - their purpose is to generate revenue for the developers. After infiltrating the system, Dezipper and other potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) merely cause unwanted browser redirects and collect personal data - they provide no real value for the user.
How did Dezipper install on my computer?
Although Dezipper has an official download website, most users inadvertently install this application with regular (mostly free) software. Many users do not express enough caution when downloading and installing software - they rush these processes and skip most/all steps.
Therefore, developers intentionally hide rogue applications within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings. By skipping this section, users often inadvertently install applications such as Dezipper, thus exposing their systems to high-risk computer infections.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Never rush download and installation of applications. Pay close attention and select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings. Closely analyze these processes and decline all offers to install third party applications - this will avoid installation of infectious software and threats to your privacy.
