Magical Find Adware

What is Magical Find?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Magical Find is a deceptive application claiming to enable a wide range of useful features that supposedly improve the Internet browsing experience - "We're passionate about improving web by providing the best tools to enhance the browsing experience, from searching the web to comparing online deals to find the best prices. We've combined all of our great ideas into the Magical Find product suite, a FREE set of tools that work to make your browsing experience... better!"
The description of this plug-in is used to trick users into believing that Magical Find is legitimate and useful. In fact, Magic Find is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). The main reason for these negative associations is stealth installation, tracking of Internet browsing activity, and display of intrusive online ads.
Magical Find employs a virtual layer to display interstitial, transitional, full-page, pup-up, banner, coupon, search, and other similar advertisements. The ads do not originate from the visited sites and conceal underlying web content, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience.
Although most redirect to various e-commerce websites such as online stores, some ads may redirect to rogue sites containing infectious content, and thus, clicking them can lead to high-risk adware or malware infections.
In addition, this application continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity and gathers various software and hardware information including IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, URLs visited, search queries, and pages viewed. These are just some examples of the data types collected by this adware.
The collected data is later shared with third parties who can misuse it to generate revenue, and since some of this information might be personally identifiable, having Magical Find installed on your system can result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
Magical Find Privacy Policy statement regarding data collection:
We only share or sell your non-public personal information with non-affiliated third parties when we believe doing so is permitted by you or authorized by this Privacy Policy. In addition, the Company may share your personal information with our parent, subsidiary or affiliate companies without restriction.
This extension is identical to High Stairs, Travel Output, SnapSearch, and hundreds of other PUPs developed by SuperWeb LLC. This company intentionally releases identical browser plug-ins under different names to trick anti-spyware and anti-virus suites, and thus, preventing detection.
While these apps claim to improve Internet browsing, none provide any significant value for the user. Apps such as Magical Find are designed to generate revenue by displaying ads and collecting data - they are useless to the user.
How did Magical Find install on my computer?
SuperWeb LLC distributes Magical Find using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs with regular software). Thus, it usually infiltrates systems without users' permission.
The developers are aware that many users do not express enough caution when downloading and installing software, and thus, intentionally conceal rogue applications such as Magical Find within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings.
Unaware of this, users often skip this section, thereby inadvertently installing potentially unwanted programs and exposing their systems to risk of further computer infections.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
All applications should be installed with caution. Follow each step during download and installation of any software. Use the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any hidden rogue applications listed for installation and enable you to cancel them. The key to computer safety is caution. Do not rush the download or installation processes.
