Box for You Adware

What is Box for You?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Box for You is an adware-type application distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen software). Therefore, this application is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
Commonly, Box for You is distributed together with free software downloadable on freeware download websites, thus, most users install this application inadvertently.
After infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, Box for You displays a variety of intrusive online advertisements including banner, pop-up, interstitial, transitional, full-page, and other displayed advertisements. These may redirect you to bogus websites, thereby causing further high-risk computer infections.
This bogus app continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity and gathers various information including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and unique identifier numbers. This information (some of which may be personally identifiable) is shared with third parties.
Therefore, the presence of tracking applications on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. The company responsible for the development of this app has released several hundred PUPs identical to Box for You. ViewPlay, Icarus, and Back to Back are just some examples among hundreds of others.
Although they claim to deliver significant features to improve the Internet browsing experience, none of these applications provide any real value. Box for You, and other adware-type apps, collect data and display intrusive online advertisements simply to generate revenue. You are strongly advised to uninstall Box for You from your system immediately.
Box for You is often distributed using small programs called 'download managers' (also called 'download clients', 'download tools', 'installers', etc.) on freeware download websites such as soft32.com, softonic.com, etc.
Download managers are developed to monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of third party apps together with the chosen software. These promoted apps are presented as 'legitimate and virus-free', however, most are adware or malware.
This type of computer infection can be prevented by closely analysing each step of the free software download procedure and ensuring that no additional programs are included for download.
Furthermore, software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any concealed applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed Box for You, the following guidelines will help you to eliminate this adware from your system.
