CrushArcade Ads

What is CrushArcade?
The CrushArcade website allows users to play various types of addictive arcade games. The 'Premium' games section, however, requires users to install the CrushArcade application. This app may seem legitimate and useful, but CrushArcade is considered to be a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware.
The developers mainly distribute this bogus app using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling', which allows installation of CrushArcade on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox without users' permission.
Bundling is stealth installation of PUPs together with regular software, and therefore, CrushArcade is often delivered with free software downloaded from freeware download websites. After CrushArcade infiltration, intrusive online advertisements (banner, pop-up, and in-text) are displayed - these may redirect to bogus websites, thereby exposing your computer to risk of infection.
Be aware that CrushArcade gathers many types of information such as geographic location, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries, IP addresses, Internet services provider, and so on. Some of this collected information might be personally identifiable, and therefore, having CrushArcade installed on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
There are hundreds of applications similar or identical to CrushArcade. For example, TopArcadeHits, ArcadeTwist, and GreatArcadeHits - these also promise identical features, and yet, none are useful to the user.
CrushArcade, and the aforementioned apps, are developed to generate revenue by the display of intrusive ads and sharing collected data with third parties. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall this bogus app from your system immediately.
Commonly, rogue applications such as CrushArcade are distributed on freeware download websites including downloads.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, etc.
Download websites employ small 'download programs' (also called 'installers', 'download managers', 'download clients', and 'download tools') to monetize their traffic and free services by including additional applications together with the chosen software. This causes installation of unwanted adware or malware type applications that may harm your system or even cause privacy issues.
To avoid this kind of computer infection, closely inspect each step of the free software download procedure and ensure that no third party apps are included.
Furthermore, software downloaded from the Internet should be installed with the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any bundled apps listed for installation and allow you to decline them. If you have installed CrushArcade, follow this guide to eliminate the adware from your system.
