Ads by Record Page

What is Record Page?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Record Page is a bogus browser add-on claiming to improve the Internet browsing experience by providing features such as coupons and comparison shopping. Some users may find Record Page legitimate and useful, however, this browser extension is classed as adware.
One of the reasons for this negative association is a deceptive free software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of third party applications together with the chosen software) employed to distribute this add-on.
After installation on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox without users' consent, Record Page delivers intrusive online advertisements including banner, pop-up, coupon, search, etc. Clicking these, and other advertisements generated by this plug-in, can redirect you to bogus websites, thereby exposing your computer to high-risk computer infection.
As with regular adware, Record Page continually monitors and records various Internet browsing-related software and hardware information including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, unique identifier numbers, and other types of collected information - details that may include personally identifiable details.
Therefore, having adware such as Record Page installed on your computer can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. The company responsible for development of this rogue application has released hundreds of other identical browser extensions including RoamingRate, Assist Point, Primary Color, and Dragon Branch.
These are just some examples of dubious apps identical to Record Page that claim to provide useful features. In fact, none have any real use - their purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements and sharing collected data with third parties. You are strongly advised to eliminate Record Page adware from your system immediately.
Today, most adware-type applications are distributed via small programs called 'download applications' (also called 'installers', 'download clients', 'download managers', etc.) used to monetize the free services and traffic of many freeware download websites including softonic.com, download.com, and soft32.com.
Although these applications supposedly ease the download process, they are developed to offer installation of additional applications together with the chosen software. In some cases, installation of third party software is simply hidden within the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options.
Although these apps are often described as '100% legitimate and virus-free', most are categorized as adware or malware. Such infections can be avoided by closely analysing each step of the free software download procedure and ensuring that no additional apps are included.
Furthermore, applications downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any third party apps listed for installation and allow you to opt-out.
If you have installed Record Page, and you observe intrusive online ads while surfing the Internet, the following guidelines will help you to eliminate this problem from your system.
