Price Turtle Adware

What is Price Turtle?
The Price Turtle browser extension offers a feature to display special deals/discounts, which will supposedly save time and money when shopping online. This functionality may seems legitimate, however, Price Turtle is categorized as adware.
This potentially unwanted program (PUP) employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install on systems without users' consent. Bundling is a way to stealthily distribute third-party programs together with regular software, and for this reason, users often install Price Turtle inadvertently during download of freeware.
Once Internet browsers are infiltrated, Price Turtle displays intrusive advertisements that lead to bogus websites where your computer may become infected.
Furthermore, Price Turtle tracks users' Internet browsing activity and records various information that may contain personally identifiable details. For example: websites visited, pages viewed and content on these pages, Internet browser version, etc. This information tracking can result in serious privacy issues.
There are many rogue applications similar to Price Turtle. Price Rocket, Key Coupons, CoupSeek, and AP Suggestor are just some examples.
Neither Price Turtle, nor any of these other apps, are useful to the user - they are developed to generate revenue by displaying intrusive online ads. Therefore, you are strongly advised to uninstall Price Turtle from your system immediately.
At time of research, Price Turtle was mostly distributed using small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites such as soft32.com, softonic.com, and many others. These websites employ download managers to monetize their free services and traffic by offering installation of third-party programs together with the chosen software.
The developers state that promoted applications such as Price Turtle are '100% legitimate and virus-free', however, they are often categorized as adware or malware infections. To avoid installation of PUPs, closely analyse each step of the free software download procedure and ensure that no other apps are included.
Furthermore, installation of downloaded software should be performed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options - this will reveal any concealed applications listed for installation and allow you to decline them. If you have installed Price Turtle, the following removal guide will help you to remove this adware from your system.
