Ads by SalePlus

What is SalePlus?
SalePlus is presented as a legitimate browser extension designed to help users save time and money while shopping online.
This functionality may seem useful, however, the SalePlus add-on is categorized as adware, since it is distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen software.
SalePlus installs on Internet browsers without users' permission. After computer infiltration, this extension generates intrusive online advertisements such as coupon, comparison shopping, banners, etc. Clicking these ads may lead to bogus websites containing infectious content, and therefore, your computer may become infected.
SalePlus also tracks user-information by collecting various details such as visited websites, pages viewed, search queries entered into search engines, IP addresses, and so on. This recorded data may include personally identifiable information, and therefore, the behavior of this add-on can cause serious privacy issues.
Note that adware-type applications such as SalePlus are similar to many others including, for example, Save Serp Now, Protectium, HDtube, and Primary result - these extensions claim to provide various useful features, however, they simply deliver ads and collect user-data (which is later shared with third parties) with the intention of generating revenue. You are strongly advised to eliminate SalePlus from your system.
Currently, most adware is distributed via small programs called 'download clients' employed by popular freeware download websites such as soft32.com, download.com, softonic.com, and many others. Download clients monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of additional applications together with the chosen software.
These promoted applications are claimed to be 'legitimate and virus-free', however, most are adware or malware. To prevent installation of SalePlus, or other rogue apps, be attentive during all steps of the download procedure and opt-out additionally-included programs.
Furthermore, use the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' option when installing downloaded software - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed SalePlus, the following guidelines will help you to remove this adware from your system.
