Neon Great Ads

What is Neon Great?
Created by SuperWeb LLC, Neon Great is a rogue browser extension claiming to improve the Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other features.
While this functionality may seem legitimate and useful, be aware that Neon Great is considered to be adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP), since it employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling', which allows installation on Internet browsers without users' consent.
After successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, Neon Great delivers various intrusive online advertisements including banner, interstitial, transitional, full-page, pop-up, and search ads. It is highly probable that clicking these advertisements will cause further high-risk adware or malware infections.
In addition, users' Internet browsing activity is continually monitored, since Neon Great collects various software and hardware information that is likely to be personally identifiable.
For example: Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (to determine geographic locations), unique identifier numbers, search queries entered into search engines, website URLs visited, pages viewed, and other similar data. This information tracking may result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
SuperWeb LLC has released several hundred rogue applications identical to Neon Great including, for example, Fact Fire, DigiHelp, and Hold Page. These applications are useless to the user - this company releases identical browser extensions under different names with the intention of preventing detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware suites.
The purpose of these applications is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected data with third parties. Therefore, you are strongly advised to uninstall Neon Great from your Internet browsers.
Close examination of Neon Great reveals that it is mostly distributed via small programs called 'download clients' on freeware download websites such as download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, etc.
Download clients are used to monetize these websites' free services by offering installation of promoted (according to the developers, '100% virus-free') browser add-ons together with the chosen free software. Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be prevented by closely observing each step of the free software download procedure and clicking 'Decline' if installation of any additional programs is offered.
Furthermore, all software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to decline them.
If you have installed Neon Great, and you observe intrusive online ads while surfing the Internet, follow the removal guide provided to uninstall this adware from your Internet browsers.
