BrowserSecurity

What is BrowserSecurity?
The BrowserSecurity application claims to protect users' whilst surfing the Internet by warning of suspicious sites and blocking dangerous content. BrowserSecurity is compatible with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox, and while its initiative to protect Internet users from malware infections is valid, this application has some downsides.
For example, it displays unwanted ads, which computer users may find difficult to remove. Furthermore, it is developed by company called Simply Tech LTD (widdit), a known adware distributor. Users wishing to protect their computers and browsers from potential threats should opt for trusted antivirus and anti-spyware programs only.
Inadvertent applications installation can occur when users install free software downloaded from the Internet. Since BrowserSecurity is ad-supported, it may be 'bundled' with free software for monetization purposes.
To avoid installation of unwanted browser toolbars and add-ons (which may lead to redirects and unwanted ad issues), computer users should install free software with caution - check each installation window carefully, opting-out out of any browser add-ons and disallowing changes to the browser homepage and default search engine settings.
Although BrowserSecurity is not directly linked to malware or virus infections, having this browser add-on installed on your computer is not recommended. It displays unwanted advertising, diminishes Internet browsing performance, and is developed by company which develops browser hijackers and adware.
If you care about computer safety, choose applications developed by reputable security companies.
Internet users should be aware that most potentially unwanted applications are distributed via small programs called 'download clients' within freeware download websites (such as download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, and many others).
Download clients are employed to monetize these websites' free services by offering installation of promoted browser extensions together with the chosen free software. Thus, careless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be prevented by closely observing each step during the download of free software and never accepting installation of additional applications offered.
If you are installing downloaded software, select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Regular' - this will reveal any bundled applications attempting stealth installation, and you will be able to decline them.
Users who have already installed BrowserSecurity and observe random redirects and advertisements when browsing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to eliminate BrowserSecurity adware from their computers.
