Sizlsearch Virus

What is Sizlsearch?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Sizlsearch is a potentially unwanted application claiming to improve the quality of users' Internet browsing experience by displaying website trust ratings, enabling comparison shopping, coupons, and adding other useful functionality. Although Sizlsearch may seem a legitimate browser extension, be aware that it is categorized as adware.
This rogue browser add-on employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install on browsers, without users' permission. After successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, Sizlsearch generates various intrusive online advertisements including interstitial, transitional, search, banner, text-link, and full page ads.
Furthermore, users' Internet browsing activity is continually monitored, since this rogue browser add-on records information such as IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, URLs visited, search queries entered, pages viewed, and other similar hardware and software information.
Having adware such as Sizlesearch installed on your computer may lead to serious privacy issues, identity theft, or malware infections. At time of research, SuperWeb LLC has released over one hundred rogue browser add-ons identical to Sizlesearch (including, for example, Gerbilio, ConstaSurf, and Yula).
This company releases identical browser extensions under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware programs. None of the add-ons created by this company add any real value for the user - their purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Most potentially unwanted applications are distributed via small programs called 'download managers' within freeware download websites such as download.com, softonic.com, soft32.com, and many others.
Download managers are employed to monetize the free services provided by these websites by offering installation of promoted browser extensions together with the chosen free software. Thus, careless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
To avoid installation of Sizlsearch, or other similar adware, pay close attention when downloading free software and click the 'Decline' button when installation of additional applications is offered.
If you are installing downloaded software, choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Regular' - this will reveal any bundled applications and you will be able to opt out of installation.
Users who have already installed Sizlsearch and observe "Ads by sizlsearch", "Powered by sizlsearch", and "Sizlsearch Deals" advertisements when surfing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to remove Sizlsearch adware from their Internet browsers.
