BringStar Ads

What is BringStar?
BringStar is a potentially unwanted browser plugin claiming to improve users' browsing experience by enabling coupons and comparison shopping. Although such added functionality may seem legitimate, Internet users should be aware that this add-on is categorized as adware.
The plugin installs on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox without users' consent using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'. Following successful installation, this add-on generates various types of advertising, including search, banner, text link, transitional, interstitial, and full page ads.
In addition, BringStar tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, operating systems, browser information, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered, and other information.
The presence of this potentially unwanted application on your system may lead to serious consequences such as malware infections and privacy issues. BringStar is just one of many rogue browser plug-ins developed by SuperWeb LLC and identical to several other potentially unwanted applications developed by this company including Lookinglink, BizzyBolt, and BrowseBit.
This company releases identical browser extensions under different names in order to avoid detection by legitimate antivirus and anti-spyware software.
Most freeware download websites (such as download.com, softonic.com) use 'download clients' - small programs offering installation of advertised browser extensions along with the chosen free program. Therefore, reckless installation of freeware may result in adware infections. To avoid installation of BringStar or similar plugins, inspect each download step of free software.
Choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical'. This will reveal the additional installation options and enable you to opt-out of adware installation. Internet users who observe ads generated by BringStar on their system should follow this removal guide to eliminate this potentially unwanted application from their Internet browser/s.
