Charm Savings Ads

What is Charm Savings?
Created by Social Growth Technologies, Inc., Charm Savings is a potentially unwanted application claiming to save time and money whilst shopping online. This plugin displays various deal and coupon ads when users visit online shopping websites.
At time of research, Charm Savings ads were used by several potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) including, for example, SmileysWeLove. This browser extension installs on browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' consent together with free software downloaded from the Internet, using a deceptive marketing method called 'bundling'.
After successful infiltration, this adware generates intrusive ads (coupons, deals, or special offers) and tracks users' Internet browsing activity.
Today, most free software download websites use 'download clients' - small programs offering installation of advertised browser extensions along with the chosen freeware. Reckless freeware downloading can result in installation of Charm Savings or other adware.
While this plugin is not technically a virus or malware, it diminishes Internet browser performance and adds no real value. For these reasons, you are advised to eliminate this potentially unwanted application from your computer.
Charm Savings is similar to other coupon ads-generating adware, including, for example, PriceSparrow, Mainonta, and Nav Links. To avoid installation of PUPs, computer users should be very attentive when downloading and installing freeware.
If your download is managed by a download client be sure to inspect each download step and decline installation of promoted browsers plug-ins.
When installing free software, choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any intended installation of bundled adware. Computer users who observe Charm Savings ads whilst surfing the Internet should use this removal guide to eliminate this adware from their Internet browser/s.
