How to remove the DynamicInterface adware from your operating system
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is DynamicInterface?
DynamicInterface is the name of a rogue application that our research team found while inspecting new submissions to VirusTotal. After analyzing this app, we discovered that DynamicInterface operates as advertising-supported software (adware) and belongs to the AdLoad malware family.
DynamicInterface adware overview
If certain specifications are not met, advertising-supported software may not run intrusive advertisement campaigns (display ads). For example, unless the browser/device or user geolocation are compatible, visits to particular websites are made, or similar - adware might not deliver advertisements. Regardless of whether DynamicInterface displays adverts or not - its presence on a system endangers device and user safety.
Adware-displayed ads endorse unreliable/harmful websites and software, online scams, and malware. Some intrusive advertisements can be triggered (by being clicked) to download/install software stealthily.
Note that any legitimate products encountered through these adverts are highly unlikely to be promoted by their actual developers. Instead, this endorsement is primarily undertaken by scammers abusing the products' affiliate programs to obtain illegitimate commissions.
Furthermore, DynamicInterface might have browser hijacker traits as they are standard for AdLoad adware - however, we did not observe any during testing.
What is more, DynamicInterface may have data tracking abilities. Advertising-supported software typically targets browsing-related data, personally identifiable details, usernames/passwords, credit card numbers, etc. The collected data is then shared with and/or sold to third-parties.
In summary, the presence of DynamicInterface or similar software on devices - can result in system infections, serious privacy issues, financial losses, and even identity theft.

Adware examples
We have analyzed thousands of adware samples; ExecutiveBrowser, CommonOperation, and InitiatorActivity are just a couple examples of our latest finds. This software typically appears legitimate and offers "useful" features. However, the advertised functionalities are rarely operational.
How did DynamicInterface install on my computer?
Bundling - packing ordinary program installers with unwanted/malicious supplements - is commonly used to spread adware. Download from dubious sources (e.g., unofficial and freeware sites, P2P sharing networks, etc.) and rushed installations - increase the risk of allowing bundled content into the system.
Fake Adobe Flash Player updaters/installers are used in distribution as well. Intrusive advertisements are also used to proliferate advertising-supported software. Once clicked on, some of these adverts can execute scripts to make downloads/installations without user consent.
Adware may have "official" download webpages. Most users access sites of this kind via redirects caused by mistyping URLs, pages using rogue advertising networks, spam browser notifications, intrusive ads, or installed adware (with browser force-opening capabilities).
How to avoid installation of adware?
We highly recommend researching software and downloading only from official/trustworthy sources. Furthermore, installation must be treated with care, e.g., reading terms, studying possible options, using the "Custom/Advanced" settings, and opting-out of all additions.
We advise being vigilant when browsing - since fraudulent and malicious content tends to appear legitimate. For example, intrusive adverts look harmless yet redirect to questionable websites (e.g., gambling, pornography, adult-dating, etc.).
If you experience such ads and/or redirects, inspect the device and immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins detected. If your computer is already infected with DynamicInterface, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
