How to uninstall AccessibleValue adware from the operating system?
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is AccessibleValue?
AccessibleValue is an adware-type app with browser hijacker qualities. Due to the dubious techniques used to distribute software products within these classifications, they are also categorized as PUAs (Potentially Unwanted Applications). It is noteworthy that AccessibleValue has been observed being spread via fake Adobe Flash Player updates.
AccessibleValue adware in detail
Adware delivers pop-ups, surveys, coupons, banners, and other intrusive adverts. They can be placed on any visited website and/or different interfaces. In addition to seriously diminishing the browsing experience, these ads pose a threat to device/user safety. When clicked on, intrusive advertisements redirect to untrustworthy/malicious websites, and some can stealthily download/install software (e.g., PUAs).
Browser hijackers reassign browsers' default search engine, new tab/window, and homepage URLs - to fake web searcher addresses. Hence, search queries typed into the URL bar and new tabs/windows opened - redirect to the promoted address.
Fake search engines typically cannot provide search results, so they redirect to Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other legitimate ones. To prevent users from restoring their browsers, this software can reset any changes made to them or restrict/deny access to the browser settings outright.
Furthermore, most PUAs have data tracking abilities. Information of interest includes - browsing and search engine histories, personally identifiable details, finance-related data, and so forth. The gathered data is then monetized by being shared with and/or sold to third-parties.
In summary, the presence of unwanted apps on devices can lead to system infections, severe privacy issues, financial losses, and even identity theft.

Adware in general
SmartResultsNavigation, BrowserState, and LogarithmicList are a few examples of adware. Like most PUAs, adware appears harmless and offers various features, which are seldom operational.
The sole purpose of unwanted applications is to generate revenue at user expense. Therefore, instead of delivering on any promises, PUAs can run intrusive ad campaigns, hijack browsers, cause redirects, and collect private data.
How did AccessibleValue install on my computer?
PUAs are distributed using the "bundling" marketing method - packing ordinary software with additions. Hence, rushed downloads/installations increase the risk of allowing bundled content into the system. Intrusive advertisements proliferate PUAs as well. Once clicked on, they can execute scripts to make downloads/installations without user permission. PUAs may also have "official" download pages.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
It is advised to research software and download only from official/verified channels. Untrustworthy sources, e.g., unofficial and freeware websites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks, etc. - can offer bundled content.
When downloading/installing, it is recommended to read terms, study possible options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings to opt-out from all additions. Intrusive adverts appear legitimate; however, they redirect to questionable sites (e.g., pornography, adult-dating, gambling, etc.).
In case of encounters with such ads and/or redirects, the system must be checked and all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins detected - immediately removed from it. If your computer is already infected with AccessibleValue, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
