How to remove apps downloaded via peachtrackereu.com and similar web pages
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is peachtrackereu[.]com?
The main purpose of peachtrackereu[.]com is to promote a potentially unwanted application (PUA), a VPN client that will supposedly protect users' devices.
There are two main reasons not to trust such web pages: users often do not visit them intentionally and, once visited, most display fake virus alerts or other deceptive notifications to trick visitors into installing a rogue application.
There is more than one variant of the peachtrackereu[.]com web page, however, all have the same purpose: to trick visitors into installing a potentially unwanted application. At least two peachtrackereu[.]com variants promote an app called Harbor VPN - Secure Connection.
peachtrackereu[.]com suggests that the device may be not safe or the browser installed on it may be not displaying websites properly. It then invites users to install the aforementioned app to avoid remedy the issue.
In some cases, these sites promote legitimate apps, however, this does not mean that they can be trusted. They could be used to promote browser hijackers, adware-type apps, or other unwanted apps.
Browsers often open peachtrackereu[.]com and similar pages due to PUAs installed on them. This is not the only issue with PUAs, which can also generate advertisements and collect information.
Examples of ads generated by PUAs include coupons, banners, surveys, and pop-ups. These can promote untrustworthy pages, and are sometimes designed to distribute other unwanted apps.
Examples of information collected by PUAs include IP addresses, entered search queries, addresses of visited pages, geolocations, and other browsing data. PUAs can also read sensitive, personal details. The data is sold to third parties (potentially cyber criminals) or monetized in other ways.

More examples of pages that are similar to peachtrackereu[.]com are moderation-support[.]network, appleconnect.safellk[.]com and peachlandeu[.]com. Most are disguised as Apple websites, however, none are official Apple web pages or have anything to do with this company.
peachtrackereu[.]com and similar sites should never be trusted.
How did potentially unwanted applications install on my computer
PUAs are distributed via download/installation set-ups of other products. This deceptive marketing tactic of packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions is called "bundling".
Rushing download/installation processes (e.g. ignoring terms, skipping steps and settings, etc.) increases the risk of inadvertently allowing bundled content into the system.
Some PUAs have "official" download sites. Intrusive advertisements proliferate these applications as well. Once clicked, they can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without users' consent.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Download software and files from official websites and via direct links. It is not safe to use torrent clients, eMule (or other Peer-to-Peer networks), third party downloaders, unofficial websites or other sources of this kind.
Avoid third party installers. Check "Advanced", "Custom" and other settings, and decline offers to download or install unwanted software. Do not click ads that are displayed on dubious websites, since they can open other untrusted websites or even cause unwanted downloads and installations.
Remove any unwanted, suspicious applications (extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins) that are installed on the browser. The same should be applied to programs of this kind that are installed on the operating system.
Regularly scan your computer with reputable antivirus or anti-spyware software and keep this software up to date.
If your computer is already infected with PUAs, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate them.
