How to stop redirects to and from cachenews.biz
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is the cachenews[.]biz site?
Sharing many similarities with getfile765.site, bot-checker.com, thefaceduck.com and countless others, cachenews[.]biz is an untrusted website. Once accessed, this site presents visitors with dubious material and/or redirects them to other rogue, possibly malicious web pages.
Most users enter cachenews[.]biz unintentionally - they are redirected to it by intrusive advertisements or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs). These apps do not need explicit user consent to be installed onto systems. PUAs cause redirects, deliver intrusive ad campaigns and collect browsing-related information activity.
The visitor's geolocation determines the behavior of cachenews[.]biz. It learns this information by checking users' IP addresses. Therefore, whether visitors are redirected elsewhere and/or are presented with dubious content depends on their geolocations.
Additionally, cachenews[.]biz instructs users to "Press 'Allow' to verify, that you are not a robot" to trick them into enabling browser notifications. If the notifications are enabled, this rogue website starts running intrusive advertisement campaigns. When the delivered ads are clicked, they redirect to untrusted, deceptive/scam, compromised and malicious web pages.
Some intrusive ads can even be triggered (when clicked) to execute scrips designed to stealthily download/install rogue software (e.g. PUAs). These unwanted applications have various capabilities in different combinations. PUAs can force-open harmful sites and/or run intrusive ad campaigns.
As mentioned, most PUAs can track data. They can record browsing activity (URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and gather personal information extracted from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). The data is then shared with and/or sold to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals).
In summary, the presence of this unwanted software can result in system infections, financial loss, serious privacy issues and even identity theft. To ensure device and user safety, you are strongly advised to remove all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately upon detection.

PUAs usual may seem legitimate and harmless. They offer a wide variety of "useful" features, however, the advertised functionality is rarely operational.
The only purpose of this unwanted software is to generate profit for the developers. Rather than delivering any real value, PUAs can cause redirects, deliver intrusive advertisement campaigns and collect private information.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs are distributed via the download/installation set-ups of other programs. "Bundling" is the term used to define this deceptive marketing tactic of pre-packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions.
By rushing through download/installation processes (e.g. by skipping steps and sections, using the "Easy/Express" settings, etc.), many users risk inadvertently allowing bundled content into their devices. Intrusive ads proliferate PUAs as well. When clicked, they can execute scripts to download/install these rogue applications without users' permission.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are advised to research all products prior to download/installation and/or purchase. All downloads must be done from official and verified sources. Untrusted download channels such as unofficial and free file-hosting websites, P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, Gnutella, eMule, etc.) and other third party downloaders commonly offer deceptive and/or bundled content.
When downloading/installing, you are advised to read the terms, explore all available options, use the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings and opt-out of additional apps, tools, features, and so on. Intrusive advertisements may seem legitimate and innocuous, however, they can redirect to various dubious web pages (e.g. gambling, pornography, adult-dating, and many others).
If you encounter these ads or redirects, check all devices and immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
