How to stop redirects to and from superinterestinginfo.info
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is the superinterestinginfo[.]info site?
superinterestinginfo[.]info is a rogue website, which shares many similarities with rpket.pro, redbearmobilecuisine.com, allmeganews.com and countless others. It operates by redirecting visitors to other untrusted/malicious pages or presents them with dubious content.
Few users access these sites intentionally - most are redirected to them by intrusive advertisements or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs). These rogue apps do not need explicit user consent to infiltrate systems. Following successful installation, they cause redirects, run intrusive ad campaigns and track browsing-related data.
The behavior of superinterestinginfo[.]info is dependent on visitors' geolocations. It learns this information by checking their IP (Internet Protocol) addresses. Therefore, whether users are redirected elsewhere or are presented with dubious material, depends on their geolocations.
Furthermore, superinterestinginfo[.]info uses browser notifications, the consent option to which is disguised within 'clickbait' ("Click Allow if you are not a robot"). If the notifications are enabled, superinterestinginfo[.]info begins delivering intrusive ads. When clicked, these redirect to various rogue/untrusted, sale-based, deceptive/scam, compromised and malicious websites.
Some of these advertisements can even be triggered (when clicked) to execute scripts designed to stealthily download/install rogue software (e.g. PUAs). These unwanted applications can force-open similarly dangerous web pages and can run intrusive ad campaigns.
As mentioned, most PUAs have data tracking capabilities. They can monitor browsing activity (URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and collect sensitive information derived from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other data). This data typically contains personally identifiable information.
Furthermore, the gathered data is often monetized by sharing with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) intent on misusing it for profit.
Therefore, the presence of PUAs on devices can lead to system infections, serious privacy issues, financial loss and even identity theft. To protect device integrity and user safety, remove all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately upon detection.

PUAs may seem legitimate and harmless, and users are often tempted into download/installation with offers of "useful" functionalities.
Despite how good these offers may sound, the features promised usually do not work. The only purpose of PUAs is to generate revenue at users' expense. Rather than delivering any real value, PUAs force-open untrusted and malicious web pages, run intrusive advertisement campaigns and collect private data.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs can be downloaded/installed together with other products. This deceptive marketing method of pre-packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions is called "bundling".
Without using opt-out options and rushing through download/installation processes (e.g. skipping steps and sections, etc.), many users risk unintentionally allowing bundled content onto their devices. Some PUAs have "official" download sites. Intrusive advertisements proliferate these applications as well.
Once clicked, they can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without users' permission.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are advised to research all software before download/installation. Use only official and verified download sources. Untrusted channels such as unofficial and free file-hosting websites, P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, Gnutella, eMule, etc.) and other third party downloaders can offer deceptive or bundled content.
When downloading/installing, read the terms, explore all available options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and opt-out of supplementary apps, tools, features and so on. Intrusive ads may seem normal, however, they often redirect to dubious pages (e.g. gambling, pornography, adult-dating and others).
If you encounter these ads/redirects, check the system and remove any dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
