How to avoid redirects to and from notify-system.com

What is notify-system[.]com ?
notify-system[.]com is virtually identical to many other untrusted web pages including, for example, mediasvideo[.]live, notification-list[.]com, and system-sms[.]com. Generally, these rogue sites redirect people to other untrustworthy websites or display dubious content.
They are often opened by browsers due to installed potentially unwanted apps (PUA). Note that PUAs open dubious websites, display ads, and gather browsing-related details. Typically, people do not download or install PUAs intentionally - they are tricked into it.
Installed PUAs open rogue websites (including notify-system[.]com) in a new browser window or tab. They then display dubious and/or deceptive content or redirect visitors to other (about 2-3) dubious websites. These actions depend on the visitor's geolocation.
Opened web pages might be used to distribute untrustworthy or even malicious apps, contain deceptive ads, etc. Furthermore, notify-system[.]com asks visitors to verify that they are not 'robots', however, this is simply a 'clickbait' technique used to trick people into allowing notify-system[.]com to show notifications.
By clicking the "Allow" button, visitors permit this page to show notifications, ads, and other unwanted content. The notifications might be designed to trick people into installing unwanted software, or redirect them to potentially malicious websites, and so on.
Furthermore, PUAs can often record data such as users' geolocations, addresses of visited websites, entered search queries, IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, and other details of this kind. PUAs might also collect private, sensitive details. The people behind these apps (developers) share the information with other parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue.
Additionally, PUAs can feed users with intrusive, annoying and often deceptive ads. For example, they display various pop-up ads, coupons, banners, surveys, etc. If clicked, these open untrustworthy/malicious websites, or execute scripts that download and install other unwanted, malicious apps. Therefore, remove all PUAs immediately.

Typically, developers advertise PUAs by offering useful features, tools and so on. In fact, most apps of this type deliver no real value and serve only to help developers to generate revenue. They cause privacy/browsing safety issues and even identity theft.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs are usually downloaded and installed through untrustworthy, deceptive ads or when software developers distribute them using a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". They use bundling to trick people into downloading and/or installing PUAs together with regular (usually free) software.
They include the PUAs in download or installation set-ups and hide related information in "Custom", "Advanced", and other similar settings. Most people end up having PUAs downloaded and/or installed when they download and install regular programs without checking or changing settings available in the set-ups.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Download files and software from official websites and avoid using sources or tools such as third party downloaders, installers, unofficial websites, Peer-to-Peer networks (torrent clients, eMule), and so on. Check download/installation setup settings ("Custom", "Advanced") and dismiss offers to download or install PUAs.
Do not click ads that are displayed on dubious web pages. For example, those relating to gambling, pornography, adult dating, and so on. The ads usually lead to other untrustworthy pages or cause download/installation of potentially malicious apps. Check for unwanted extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins installed on the browser and to remove them immediately.
The same should be applied to unwanted software installed on the operating system. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
