Remove redirects to and from goodmedia.me

What is goodmedia[.]me?
goodmedia[.]me is a rogue website identical to clickworker.me, dreamteammyfriend.com, clickpush.biz, and many others. The purpose of this site is to redirect users to other rogue websites and deliver dubious content.
Research shows that many visitors arrive at goodmedia[.]me inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive ads encountered on other dubious sites. In addition, PUAs typically infiltrate computers without consent and, as well as causing redirects, deliver intrusive advertisements and gather information.
After successful system infiltration, PUAs start force-opening new browser tabs/windows and redirecting users to goodmedia[.]me, which then presents users with dubious content and/or redirects them elsewhere. Everything depends on the visitor's geolocation, which is determined by checking the IP address.
In any case, users might end up seeing malicious content. Thus, visiting goodmedia[.]me is risky and can lead to malware infections. The same applies to intrusive advertisements, which redirect to dubious websites and execute scripts designed to download/install unwanted applications.
Thus, even a single accidental click might result in a malware infection. PUAs deliver ads using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, they often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. Another important issue is data tracking.
Potentially unwanted applications gather data such as IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other information that contains personal details. Developers share the data with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who generate revenue by misusing private information.
Therefore, information tracking can lead to serious privacy issues, including identity theft. All potentially unwanted applications should be eliminated immediately.

The internet is full of PUAs that share many similarities. By offering many "useful features", the often trick unsuspecting users into installing them. In fact, the purpose of these programs is to generate revenue for the developers.
Rather than enabling any of the functions promised, PUAs cause redirects, gather data, and deliver ads, thereby posing a threat to your privacy/computer safety and significantly diminishing the browsing experience.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs infiltrate computers without users' consent, since developers proliferate them using intrusive advertising and "bundling" methods. "Bundling" is installation of third party applications with regular software. Developers are aware that many users rush download/installation processes and skip steps.
Thus, "bundled" apps are intentionally concealed behind "Custom/Advanced" settings (or other sections) of the download/installation processes. Therefore, rushing these procedures and skipping steps often leads to inadvertent installation of rogue applications.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent this situation, be very cautious during the download/installation processes and when browsing the Internet in general. Study each step of the download/installation processes using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings. Opt-out of all additionally-included programs and decline offers to download/install them.
Avoid using third party downloaders/installers, since they are often monetized by "bundling" (promoting) PUAs. Software should be downloaded from official sources only, preferably using direct download links. Bear in mind that intrusive advertisements often seem legitimate, since developers invest many resources into intrusive ad design, thereby making them seem legitimate.
Once clicked, however, they redirect to dubious websites (gambling, pornography, adult dating, and similar).
If you experience these ads/redirects, eliminate all dubious apps and browser plug-ins. The key to computer safety is caution. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
