Eliminate browser redirects to the traveldealscenter.co website

What is traveldealscenter.co?
traveldealscenter.co is yet another fake search engine that supposedly enhances the browsing experience by generating improved results.
Judging on appearance alone, traveldealscenter.co may seem legitimate and useful, however, developers promote it using a browser-hijacking application called Travel Deals Center, which supposedly helps users to find various travel deals.
Travel Deals Center typically infiltrates computers without users' consent. Furthermore, traveldealscenter.co and Travel Deals Center monitor browsing activity.
Travel Deals Center hijacks popular browsers and assigns the new tab URL, default search engine, and homepage options to traveldealscenter.co. These changes may seem insignificant, however, users are unable to revert them. Research shows that traveldealscenter.co reassigns options (or simply prevents access) when users attempt to change them.
Therefore, returning browsers to their previous states becomes impossible and users are forced to visit traveldealscenter.co when they open a new browser tab or search via the URL bar. This significantly diminishes the web browsing experience.
Note that traveldealscenter.co is a useless search engine, since it redirects users to search.yahoo.com each time a search query is entered. Therefore, traveldealscenter.co generates no unique results and users merely end up searching via the Yahoo search engine. As mentioned above, traveldealscenter.co and Travel Deals Center record information relating to browsing activity.
Fake search engines and browser hijackers usually gather search queries, URLs visited, pages viewed, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, and other similar data relating to browsing activity. This information is likely to contain personal details that developers share with third parties to generate revenue.
These people misuse the information to generate even more revenue. Therefore, data tracking might lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. If you encounter redirects to traveldealscenter.co, remove the Travel Deals Center browser hijacker and never return to the website.

traveldealscenter.co shares many similarities with dozens of other fake search engines, such as searchinggood.com, informationvine.com, and smartpackagetracker.com.
By offering various "useful features" (improved search results, currency exchange rates, shortcuts to popular websites, etc.), websites such as traveldealscenter.co attempt to give the impression of legitimacy, however, these websites have just one purpose: to generate revenue for the developers.
Rather than giving any real value for regular users, they cause redirects and gather information.
How did Travel Deals Center install on my computer?
Research shows that, although Travel Deals Center is free for anyone to download on its official website, it typically infiltrates computers without permission. Developers proliferate it using intrusive advertising and "bundling" methods.
Intrusive advertisements (which are typically delivered by adware-type applications) often redirect to dubious websites and can even run scripts that download/install unwanted apps. "Bundling" is stealth installation of third party programs with regular (typically free) software.
Developers hide "bundled" applications behind "Custom/Advanced" settings (or other sections) of the download/installation processes. Furthermore, many users often rush these procedures and skip steps. In addition, they click various advertisements without understanding the possible consequences. This behavior often leads to inadvertent installation of third party applications.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The main reasons for computer infections are poor knowledge and careless behavior. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, be very cautious when browsing the Internet and downloading/installing software. Study each window of the download/installation processes using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings.
Opt-out of additionally-included programs and decline offers to download/install them. Avoid using third party downloaders/installers, since most are monetized using the "bundling" method (developers promote PUAs). Download apps from official sources only, using direct download links.
Bear in mind that intrusive advertisements usually seem legitimate, since developers invest many resources into their design, however, most redirect to dubious websites (gambling, adult dating, pornography, and similar). If you experience these ads/redirects, remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins.
If your computer is already infected with Travel Deals Center, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this browser hijacker.
