Elimination instructions for redirects to ciessimple.pro
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is ciessimple[.]pro?
ciessimple[.]pro is a rogue website designed to redirect visitors to other untrusted sites and deliver dubious content. It is very similar to newsfrog.me, bodlift.com, peegh1o.com, and dozens of other rogue sites.
Most visitors arrive at ciessimple[.]pro inadvertently, as they are redirected by intrusive advertisements (displayed on other rogue sites) or potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) already present on the system. PUAs usually infiltrate systems without permission. In addition to causing redirects, they deliver intrusive advertisements and monitor browsing activity.
After successful system infiltration, PUAs start force-opening new browser tabs/windows and redirect users to ciessimple[.]pro, which then checks the visitor's Internet Protocol (IP) address to determine the geolocation of the system.
This is done to ascertain whether the user should be redirected elsewhere or if certain content should be displayed (ciessimple[.]pro sometimes does both). In any case, users might be presented with malicious content. Therefore, visiting ciessimple[.]pro can lead various computer infections.
Furthermore, PUAs deliver coupons, banners, pop-ups, and other intrusive advertisements. These are usually designed to redirect users to dubious websites or to run scripts that download and install other PUAs. Thus, clicking them can also result in various system infections.
Intrusive ads are generated using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, many conceal underlying website content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. Potentially unwanted applications are also notorious for data tracking.
They can record IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar data. This informaiton is shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who generate revenue by misusing private information.
Thus, data tracking can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. We strongly recommend that you uninstall all potentially unwanted applications immediately.

The internet is full of PUAs, all of which are virtually identical. By offering "useful features", these applications attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and often trick users to install. They are designed only to generate revenue for the developers. Rather than giving any real value for regular users, PUAs deploy intrusive advertisements, cause redirects, and gather data.
How did adware install on my computer?
Unwanted applications are distributed using the aforementioned intrusive advertisements and a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" - stealth installation of third party applications together with regular software. Developers are not honest enough to adequately disclose installation of rogue applications.
Therefore, all information regarding modification of browser settings is hidden behind "Custom" or "Advanced" settings of the download/installation processes.
Furthermore, many users often rush these procedures, skip steps, and click various advertisements - this behavior often leads to inadvertent installation of third party programs. In this way, many users expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The main reasons for computer infections are poor knowledge and careless behavior. The key to its safety is caution. Therefore, pay attention when browsing the Internet and downloading/installing software. Carefully analyze each download/installation step using "Custom/Advanced" settings. Opt-out of additionally-included programs and decline offers to download/install them.
Avoid using third party downloaders/installers, since developers often monetize them by "bundling" rogue apps. Software should be downloaded from official sources only, preferably using direct download links. Intrusive advertisements usually seem legitimate, however, when clicked, redirect to dubious websites (gambling, adult dating, pornography, survey, etc.).
If you frequently encounter these ads/redirects, check the list of installed applications/browser plug-ins and remove all suspicious entries. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
