What is Xtron System Care?
According to the developers of Xtron System Care, this program supposedly cleans, optimizes, and enables computers to run faster by cleaning unnecessary files, removing programs, and fixing errors.
In fact, this is a potentially unwanted application (PUA), since it is distributed by deceptively including it into set-ups of other software. Note that many people download and install Xtron System Care unintentionally.
Xtron System Care includes a scanner that checks the operating system for performance-related issues, unwanted programs, unnecessary startup items, malicious programs, and so on. Like most programs of this type, it detects a number of issues.
At time of research, it detected over 900 potentially unwanted items, however, to start the repair process, users are required to activate the program by purchasing a 'full version'. Do not trust programs that are distributed by deceptively bundling them into other software set-ups. These apps often list fake results and detect non-existent, fabricated issues.
Therefore, they do not fix any genuine problems. Many PUAs trick people into purchasing paid versions of bogus software, and Xtron System Care is likely to be in this category. Additionally, apps that are bundled into download or installation set-ups are often are included together with other PUAs such as browser hijackers, adware, and so on.
Browser hijackers gather browsing-related and personal data, and promote fake search engines by changing browser settings. Adware-type apps serve users with unwanted, deceptive ads. If Xtron System Care is installed with any of these additional apps, remove them immediately. Do not trust Xtron System Care.

Xtron System Care advertises another program of this type called Advanced Driver Booster. There are many more examples including One Click Speedup, Auto PC Speedup, and DriverFixer.
Typically, they are categorized as PUAs due to the distribution method used by developers (bundling). Furthermore, these programs are usually presented as legitimate and useful, however, few provide any real value.
How did potentially unwanted applications install on my computer?
Unwanted apps are distributed by bundling them into set-ups of other software, and developers do not disclose this information. They hide the details in "Custom", "Advanced" and other settings and hope that people will not check or change them.
In this way, many users give permission for PUAs (such as Xtron System Care) to be downloaded and installed together with other, usually free programs. Unwanted downloads and installations also happen when people click intrusive ads - the ads then run scripts that download and install PUAs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Avoid downloading software from untrustworthy sources such as torrent clients, eMule (other Peer-to-Peer networks), unofficial pages, and so on. The best way to download is to using official websites and direct download links. Do not skip download/installation setup steps without checking "Custom", "Advanced" and other settings.
Deselect all unwanted additional software/applications and only then finish the installation or download procedure. Be careful with intrusive ads, especially if they are displayed on untrustworthy websites. If clicked, they can open potentially malicious web pages or cause installation of potentially malicious apps.
If you encounter ads or redirects to suspicious websites, check the list of installed extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins on your browser and remove all unknown/unwanted entries immediately.
Also check the list of installed programs on your computer. If your computer is already infected with PUAs, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
