What is convert2mp3[.]net?
The convert2mp3[.]net website offers an online video conversion service. It allows users to download and convert videos from YouTube, Dailymotion, and Clipfish in MP3, MP4, and other formats.
Be aware, however, that this service is illegal. Additionally, convert2mp3[.]net is used to promote potentially unwanted apps (PUAs), contains rogue ads, and (if allowed) displays push notifications.
When opened, convert2mp3[.]net demands permission to show notifications. If granted, the site starts to show various unwanted notifications and advertisements. If clicked, these open other dubious websites that might be used to promote unwanted or malicious applications.
Furthermore, convert2mp3[.]net opens untrustworthy websites that trick people into downloading unwanted apps. These web pages display fake virus alerts stating that visitors' computers are infected with viruses and encourage them to download an app to remove the detected threats. Do not download or install apps that are advertised on sites of this type.
Other web pages opened by convert2mp3[.]net might be used to advertise various browser hijackers, adware-type apps, and so on. Browser hijackers gather information relating to users' browsing habits and promote fake search engines by changing browser settings.
Adware-type apps deliver intrusive advertisements that, if clicked, open untrustworthy web pages (including those that display fake virus alerts) or execute scripts that cause download/installation of other PUAs.
To avoid unwanted installations, redirects to potentially malicious pages, problems with browsing safety, privacy, and so on, do not use services provided by convert2mp3[.]net.

convert2mp3[.]net is similar to onlinevideoconverter[.]com, ytmp3[.]cc, savefrom[.]net and many other websites of this type. Typically, these sites use rogue advertising networks, open dubious pages, cause unwanted redirects, and ask visitors' permission to show notifications. It is not safe to visit or use these websites.
How did adware install on my computer?
Most people cause unwanted downloads/installations unintentionally when they click untrustworthy (intrusive) ads or when software developers use a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". In this way, people download/install unwanted apps together with other, regular software.
To trick users, developers do not disclose information about these bundled apps and hide it in "Custom", "Advanced", "Manual" or other similar sections of download or installation set-ups. People who download and install programs without checking the settings often cause inadvertent download and installation of PUAs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Download software from official, trustworthy websites. Avoid using third party software downloaders/installers, torrent clients, eMule (and other Peer-to-Peer networks), unofficial pages and other similar sources. Furthermore, install software properly: analyze each setup and check settings such as "Advanced", "Custom" and so on.
Opt-out of offers to download or install PUAs and only then finish the download/installation. Note that intrusive ads usually may seem legitimate, however, if clicked, they often redirect to untrustworthy websites. Typically, these ads are displayed on web pages relating to gambling, pornography, adult dating, and so on.
If you encounter unwanted redirects, or intrusive ads appear on any opened site, check your browser for unwanted entries (installed unwanted extensions, plug-ins, add-ons, etc.) and remove them immediately. All unknown (suspicious) programs that are installed on the operating system should also be removed.
If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
