Search.hquickneasyrecipes.co Redirect

What is search.hquickneasyrecipes.co?
search.hquickneasyrecipes.co is a fake search engine that is very similar to others of this type including, for example, search.hnewsscoop.co, search.hfastmapsanddirections.com, and search.hyourfreeonlineformsnow.com.
This may seem to be a legitimate search engine, similar to well-known sites such as Google - developers promote it as 'useful' and offering potential users an enhanced browsing experience. In fact, it is also promoted using a browser hijacker, an app called Quick N Easy Recipes.
Applications of this type are categorized as potentially unwanted apps (PUAs). Together with search.hquickneasyrecipes.co, this PUA collects information relating to browsing habits and, when installed, modifies browser settings.
Browser hijackers are usually installed on browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Quick N Easy Recipes assigns the homepage, new tab, and default search engine URLs to search.hquickneasyrecipes.co. Therefore, users are forced to visit this site when a browser or new browser tab is opened, or a search query is entered into the URL bar.
These may not seem to be major modifications, however, they cannot be changed unless the Quick N Easy Recipes PUA is uninstalled. Users are prevented from making changes - settings are reassigned when attempts are made to change them. This app provides a search engine that is useless.
If a search query is entered, it simply redirects users to search.yahoo.com (a legitimate search engine by Yahoo) and displays associated results. Therefore, search.hquickneasyrecipes.co is not capable of generating unique results.
Furthermore, browser hijackers such as Quick N Easy recipes and their associated fake search engines usually collect information relating to users' browsing activity. Typically, they record data such as IP addresses, search queries, geo-locations, and URLs of visited websites. In some cases, they collect personal details.
PUA developers share the data with third parties who misuse it to generate revenue. Some of these parties might be cyber criminals. Therefore, we recommend that you uninstall all installed potentially unwanted apps immediately.

There are many fake search engines on the internet. Developers present them as legitimate and useful, offering various features, tools, an enhanced browsing experience, and so on, however, most of these search engine provide no real benefits. Developers use them only to generate revenue. Furthermore, they often cause various problems relating to browsing safety, privacy, etc.
How did Quick N Easy Recipes install on my computer?
Quick N Easy Recipes app can be downloaded from a website that developers use to distribute it, however, most PUAs are installed unintentionally. This usually happens when people click intrusive (dubious) advertisements or when software developers use a deceptive marketing method called "bundling".
In this way, they trick people into installing unwanted apps together with regular downloaded/installed software. Developers often succeed simply by hiding PUAs in "Custom", "Advanced" (and other similar) settings of software download/installation set-ups. Note, however, that this only works if users download and install software without checking the settings.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To avoid unwanted, unintentional/unwanted downloads and installations, download software using official and trustworthy websites (or other reliable sources). Avoid using third party installers, downloaders, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks (torrent clients, eMule and other tools of this type), unofficial or dubious websites, and so on.
Do not install (or download) software without checking "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar sections of the download/installation set-ups. Dismiss offers to install unwanted apps and only then finish the installation (or download) procedure. Many intrusive advertisements redirect users who click them to deceptive, untrustworthy websites.
Some examples are adult dating, gambling, and pornography websites. These ads may appear due to PUAs installed on the browser or operating system (they might also cause unwanted redirects). Check the list of installed apps (extensions, add-ons, plug-ins) on your browser and eliminate unwanted, unknown entries.
Also uninstall unwanted programs from the operating system. If your computer is already infected with Quick N Easy Recipes, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this browser hijacker.
