Yourweatherpage.com Redirect

What is yourweatherpage.com?
yourweatherpage.com is one of many fake search engines available. Most websites of this type are promoted using browser hijackers and rogue downloaders or installers. In this case, Your Weather browser hijacker is presented as an app that provides weather reports directly from the browser.
In fact, it is also categorized as a potentially unwanted app (PUA). Most people install PUAs unintentionally or accidentally. Once installed, Your Weather modifies browser settings and collects various information relating to users' browsing habits (as does the yourweatherpage.com fake search engine).
Most potentially unwanted apps (browser hijackers) can be installed on browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Once installed, they immediately assign certain browser settings. In this case, Your Weather app assigns yourweatherpage.com (or nt.yourweatherpage.com) as the default search engine, homepage, and new tab URL address.
Therefore, people with this PUA installed on their systems are forced to visit this website repeatedly (when a new tab or the browser itself is opened, or a search query is entered into the URL bar). None of these settings can be reverted to their previous states unless the browser hijacker is uninstalled.
Research shows that this fake search engine redirects to blpsearch.com and then to search.yahoo.com (a Yahoo search engine). Rather than providing any unique results, yourweatherpage.com provides results generated by Yahoo, and is thus useless. As mentioned, yourweatherpage.com and the Your Weather app record various data.
Typically, apps and search engines of this type collect URLs of visited websites, search queries, geo-locations, and IP addresses - essentially, browsing-related data, however, they often gather personal details as well. Furthermore, developers send the details to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse private information to generate revenue.
Information tracking and sharing can cause privacy issues, problems with browsing safety, and so on. Some users might even become victims of identity theft.

There are many various fake search engines that are very similar to yourweatherpage.com. Some examples are search.hquickmapsanddirections.com, searchsecureprime.co, and search.momentumlite.com. Developers usually promote them by offering an enhanced browsing experience, various tools, features, etc.
Unfortunately, these promotions are merely attempts to make them seem legitimate and to trick people into using them.
Typically, dubious (fake) search engines generate revenue for their developers (and third parties) by causing unwanted redirects, gathering data, and sometimes by providing misleading results. Do not use unwanted apps (browser hijackers) or dubious search engines.
How did Your Weather install on my computer?
There is a website that can be used to download Your Weather, however, most apps of this type are downloaded and installed unintentionally. In most cases browser hijackers are "bundled" with other software (this method is called "bundling"). Typically, PUAs are bundled with free software downloaded from the internet.
These additionally-included apps are usually "hidden" in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar options of the download/installation set-ups. They are installed when users do not check the settings. In this way, people unintentionally allow these apps to be installed.
They are also installed through deceptive ads. Note that some ads are capable of executing scripts designed to download and install unwanted apps .
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Download software from official websites, and avoid downloading from unknown, unofficial sources, third party downloaders, Peer-to-Peer networks, and so on. Install software carefully and pay enough attention to each installation step. Check "Advanced", "Custom" and other similar settings.
Furthermore, try not to miss any checkbox - ensure that you do not agree to download or install software you do not require. Avoid clicking on suspicious ads, especially those displayed on untrustworthy websites. Dubious ads often redirect people to untrustworthy websites such as gambling, adult dating, pornography, and so on.
Unwanted redirects and intrusive ads might also be caused by unwanted apps. If you experience these, check the list of installed browser apps (extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins) and remove suspicious, unknown/unwanted entries immediately. The same applies to programs installed on the computer (operating system).
