Search.yadbazelet.com Redirect (Mac)

What is search.yadbazelet.com?
There are many fake search engines on the internet, including search.yadbazelet.com, which is promoted as a legitimate and valuable search engine.
Developers state that it offers an enhanced browsing experience, including accurate, faster search results, and so on. In fact, it is promoted using rogue downloaders/installers that adjust browser settings. Furthermore, it records browsing-related information and other data.
Frequently, these rogue downloaders/installers target browsers such as Safari, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox and modify the settings. In this case, assigning the default search engine, homepage, and new tab URL to search.yadbazelet.com.
Therefore, the fake search engine is opened when the user opens a browser (new window), new tab, or enters a search query into the URL bar. None of these changes can be undone unless the browser extensions (or plug-ins, add-ons) are uninstalled. Rogue downloaders/installers install so-called "helper objects" that prevent users from changing/undoing the new settings.
In addition, the search.yadbazelet.com fake search engine and "helper objects" gather data such as IP addresses, geo-locations, search queries, URLs of visited websites, and so on. There is a strong possibility that personal/sensitive data might also be collected.
The people who develop these apps (and fake search engines) share the recorded information with third parties who misuse it to generate revenue. Furthermore, the data might fall into the hands of cyber criminals. Do not use fake search engines or have dubious, potentially unwanted apps (PUAs) installed.
These can cause problems relating to privacy, browsing safety, and some people might even become victims of identity theft. Note that search.yadbazelet.com provides no unique search results - when a search query is entered, it simply redirects to search.yahoo.com, a legitimate Yahoo search engine, and displays results generated by the Yahoo engine.

How did search.yadbazelet.com install on my computer?
Potentially unwanted apps (browser hijackers and other similar apps) are generally installed through intrusive advertisements or when software developers use a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". Therefore, few users install these apps willingly. "Bundling" is a deceptive marketing method used frequently.
The main purpose is to trick people into downloading and installing unwanted applications together with regular, chosen software. This is often achieved by hiding information about the bundling of these apps into set-ups (installation or download). I.e., by hiding them in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings or options of the installation (or download) processes.
In many cases, users skip installation/download steps without checking the settings or options - this usually causes unintentional installations of potentially unwanted applications.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The safest way to download software is by using official, trustworthy websites (or other channels) and direct links. Do not use third party downloaders, torrent clients (and other Peer-to-Peer networks), and other similar sources. Install and download software patiently. Do not skip set-up steps without checking "Advanced", "Custom" and other available settings/options.
Dismiss any offers to download or install additionally-included software/potentially unwanted applications, and only then finish the download or installation procedure. Be careful when choosing which ads to click, especially when visiting suspicious websites.
Most ads appear legitimate, however, some redirect to gambling, adult dating, pornography, and other untrustworthy websites. If you encounter ads that redirect you to any of these (or similar) sites, check your browser for unwanted/unknown extensions, add-ons, or plug-ins installed, and remove them immediately.
If your computer is already infected with browser hijackers, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate them.
