Bluegrated.com POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is bluegrated.com?
bluegrated.com is another rogue website that shares similarities with replyalert.net, click.newsfeed.support, replyalert.net, and many others. bluegrated.com redirects visitors to other dubious sites and displays dubious content. Users generally visit this site inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive ads displayed on other rogue sites.
Many PUAs infiltrate computers without direct user permission. In addition, they cause redirects, generate intrusive advertisements, and record information relating to browsing habits.
After successful infiltration, unwanted apps force-open new browser tabs/windows and redirect users to bluegrated.com. Immediately after visiting this site, users encounter several additional redirects or dubious content (depending on the user's location). In any case, users might encounter malicious content.
Thus, redirects to and from bluegrated.com can lead to computer infections. Clicking intrusive advertisements might also result in the same problems, since most redirect to dubious websites and execute scripts that download/install other potentially unwanted applications (or even high-risk malware).
Intrusive ads are displayed using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, they often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. Furthermore, PUAs gather information relating to browsing activity - information that typically includes personal details.
Developers share this data with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue. Thus, having data-tracking applications installed can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. You are strongly advised to eliminate all unwanted applications immediately.

There are hundreds of unwanted applications, all of which share many similarities. Most offer "useful features" that will supposedly enhance the browsing experience or provide easy access to certain tasks (e.g., file conversion, quick access to popular websites, internet performance tests, etc.).
These claims are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimacy. PUAs have just one purpose: to generate revenue for the developers. Most deliver no value for regular users. They generate advertisements, cause redirects, and record sensitive data, thereby posing a significant threat to your privacy and web browsing safety.
How did adware install on my computer?
Although some potentially unwanted applications have official download websites, most infiltrate systems without users' consent, since developers promote them using intrusive advertisements and a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". This method is essentially stealth installation of third party software together with regular apps.
Developers hide "bundled" apps within various sections (e.g., "Custom/Advanced" settings) of the download or installation processes. In addition, many users often rush these procedures and skip steps - behavior that often leads to inadvertent installation of rogue apps. In this way, users expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Lack of knowledge and careless behavior are the main reasons for computer infections. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, pay attention when browsing the internet and downloading/installing software.
Intrusive advertisements often seem legitimate, since developers invest many resources into their design, however, they typically redirect to adult dating, pornography, gambling, and other dubious websites. If you encounter these dubious ads/redirects, immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins.
Furthermore, carefully analyze each step of the download/installation processes using the "Custom/Advanced" settings. Decline offers to download/install additional applications and opt-out of those already included. Software should be downloaded from official sources only (via direct download links) and not third party downloaders/installers.
If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
