Yayzap Adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Yayzap?
The Yayzap app allows access to various games directly from the web browser. Although this app may seem legitimate, it is categorized as deceptive and a potentially unwanted application (PUA) adware-type app. Most users install Yayzap inadvertently without giving direct permission. It also displays intrusive advertisements and tracks users' browsing activity.
Following infiltration, Yayzap continually delivers intrusive ads (mostly coupons, banners, surveys, and so on). These are displayed using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content (ads) on any site and conceal the underlying content, thereby diminishing the browsing experience.
Furthermore, when clicked, some of these ads cause redirects to untrustworthy websites or run scripts that download other potentially unwanted applications. Even a single click might cause computer infections.
PUAs also collect data (such as keystrokes, search queries, URLs of visited websites, geo-locations, IP addresses, etc.) and share it with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who often misuse the details to generate revenue.
Furthermore, the data might contain personal information that is misused by cyber criminals or PUAs developers, thus putting users at risk of privacy/browsing safety issues or even identity theft. Clearly, having adware-type app such as Yayzp might cause problems and, therefore, we recommend that you uninstall it immediately .

There are many other adware-type apps on the internet (including BlastGamesNetwork, BrainyZanyGames, BigGamez, etc.) - these are promoted as 'useful' and designed to provide tools or features.
In fact, these are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users into downloading rogue apps. Most PUAs deliver none of the functionality promised or give any other real value for regular users.
How did Yayzap install on my computer?
As with most PUAs, Yayzap is distributed using a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" - stealth installation of potentially unwanted applications with other software. Developers hide PUAs in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings (options) of the installation dialogs.
They do not disclose information regarding additional installations, and thus PUAs often go unnoticed, or users simply skip installation steps and unintentionally allow PUAs to be installed.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Download software (especially free software) from trustworthy and official websites, or other sources. Avoid using third party software downloaders/installers, torrents, and other similar channels to download software. Check "Advanced"/Custom" and other sections/settings of the installation process.
Bear in mind that malicious (or other untrustworthy) ads may seem legitimate, but once clicked, redirect to untrustworthy websites such as gambling, pornography, adult dating, etc.
If you have clicked advertisements that continually redirect you to untrustworthy websites, check for new plug-ins, add-ons, and extensions installed on your browser, and unwanted programs installed on your computer. Uninstall all unwanted software/applications immediately.
If your computer is already infected with Yayzap, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this adware.
