Ads by CDN Reader

What is CDN Reader?
Developers present CDN Reader as a legitimate application that supposedly allows users to view and edit PDF files. This functionality might seem legitimate and useful, however, CDN Reader is distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called "bundling".
Furthermore, this app displays intrusive online advertisements and monitor users' Internet browsing activity. Therefore, CDN Reader is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
Following infiltration, CDN Reader employs a 'virtual layer' to generate pop-up, banner, coupon, and other similar advertisements. The virtual layer enables placement of third party graphical content on any site.
Therefore, displayed advertisements often conceal underlying content of visited websites, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience. Research also shows that these ads often redirect to malicious websites - clicking them is risky and can result in further adware or malware infections.
CDN Reader continually tracks users' Internet browsing activity by gathering various information including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (to determine geo-locations), URLs visited, pages viewed, and queries entered into search engines.
This information might contain personally identifiable details that developers of CDN Reader share with cooperating third party companies (who misuse private data to generate revenue). Therefore, data tracking can lead to serious privacy issues. If you feel that CDN Reader has been installed without your consent, remove this adware immediately.
CDN Reader is virtually identical to hundreds of adware-type applications such as ArcadeSwim, DestinyScope, Social Extras, and FastoPlayer. All adware offers various 'useful features' that significantly improve the Internet browsing experience, however, research shows that these claims are merely attempts to trick users to install.
The actual purpose of adware is to generate revenue for the developers. These applications provide no significant value for regular users. PUPs such as CDN Reader collect personally identifiable information and continually display intrusive online advertisements.
How did CDN Reader install on my computer?
Developers distribute CDN Reader using a deceptive software marketing method called "bundling" - stealth installation of third party programs with regular (usually free) applications/software.
Therefore, users often install CDN Reader inadvertently without their consent, since developers hide bundled programs within the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings of the download/installation processes. Rushing and skipping this section often leads to inadvertent installation of PUPs, exposes the system to risk of various infections, and compromises users' privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent system infiltration by PUPs, be very cautious during the download/installation processes. Closely analyze each step using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings. Furthermore, all offers to download/install additional applications should be declined. The key to computer safety is caution.
