Sports Score Adware

What is Sports Score?
Sports Score is a dubious application that claims to allow users to check the results of various sport contests.
This application may seem legitimate and useful, however, research shows that Sports Score records various user/system information, delivers intrusive online advertisements, causes unwanted browser redirects, and usually infiltrates systems without users’ permission. For these reasons, Sports Score is classed as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware.
Research shows that Sports Score continually records visited website URLs, search queries entered into search engines, pages viewed, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, and other similar data. This information might be personally identifiable and shared with third parties who often misuse private data to generate revenue.
Thus, the presence of an information-tracking app on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. Sports Score causes unwanted browser redirects to search.yahoo.com. Furthermore, it employs a 'virtual layer' to generate pop-up, banner, coupon, and other similar advertisement types, none of which originate from users' visited websites.
These third party ads often conceal underlying website content and cause unwanted browser redirects, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience. Furthermore, these ads often redirect to infectious websites - clicking them can result in high-risk adware or malware infections. We strongly recommend that you uninstall Sports Score adware immediately.
Sports Score shares many similarities with other potentially unwanted programs such as Internet Quick Access, Splendor Search, BrowserProtect, etc. By giving fake promises to enhance the web browsing experience, potentially unwanted programs commonly trick users to install.
Research shows that these apps deliver no real value for regular users. Sports Score, and other similar apps, are designed only to generate revenue for the developers - their purpose is to collect personal data, display intrusive online advertisements, and cause unwanted browser redirects.
How did Sports Score install on my computer?
Sports Score is free for anyone to download on its official website. It is also distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'. Thus, users often install this PUP inadvertently. Bundling is essentially stealth installation of third party programs with regular (usually legitimate) software.
Developers hide PUPs within the 'Custom/Advanced' settings of download/installation processes. Rushing and skipping most/all of the download/installation steps exposes systems to risk of various infections.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent system infiltration by potentially unwanted programs, be cautious during the download/installation procedures. Also be cautious when downloading and installing software - closely analyze each step and cancel all additional third party applications.
