Searchinggood.com Redirect

What is searchinggood.com?

searchinggood.com is a fake search engine that, according to the developers, enhances the browsing experience by generating the most relevant results. On initial inspection, searchinggood.com may seem legitimate and useful, however, developers promote this website using browser-hijacking download/installation set-ups. Furthermore, the site monitors browsing activity.

Sinentoldrewhap.pro Ads

What is sinentoldrewhap[.]pro?

sinentoldrewhap[.]pro is very similar to redtext[.]biz, ciessimple[.]pro, storynnews[.]com and many other rogue sites that redirect visitors to untrustworthy, potentially malicious websites or display dubious content.

In most cases, people visit sinentoldrewhap[.]pro inadvertently, since they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or through clicked intrusive advertisements. Generally, people download and install these apps by accident. After installation, they cause redirects to dubious web pages, collect sensitive browsing data, and feed users with intrusive ads.

Nusar Ransomware

What is Nusar?

First discovered by malware researcher Michael Gillespie, Nusar is yet another ransomware infection from the Djvu family. After successful infiltration, Nusar encrypts stored data and appends filenames with the ".nusar" extension. For example, "sample.jpg" is renamed to "sample.jpg.nusar".

Following successful encryption, Nusar generates a text file called "_readme.txt", which contains a ransom-demand message.

FreezedByWizard Ransomware

What is FreezedByWizard?

Discovered by Petrovic, FreezedByWizard is one of many programs categorized as ransomware. Computers are infected with FreezedByWizard when users open a malicious PowerShell script file, which then starts encrypting files. During encryption, this ransomware appends file extensions with ".Freezing" (e.g., "1.jpg" becomes "1.jpg.Freezing").

When encryption is finished, the file extension is changed by applying ".FreezedByWizard" (e.g., "1.jpg.Freezing" becomes "1.jpg.FreezedByWizard").

Furthermore, if a file is being used by a process, this ransomware terminates that process. Another detail specific to FreezedByWizard is that it creates a ransom message within a text file called ".FreezedByMagic.README.txt" and stores it on the desktop.

Go-search.me Redirect (Mac)

What is go-search.me?

According to the developers, go-search.me is a legitimate web search engine that significantly enhances the browsing experience by generating improved results. It is very similar to g-search.pro and judging on appearance alone, go-search.me barely differs from Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other legitimate search engine.

Therefore, many users believe that go-search.me is also legitimate and useful. In fact, developers promote this site using rogue download/installation tools designed to modify web browser options without permission. Furthermore, go-search.me continually gathers various data relating to web browsing activity.

Special-news.online Ads

What is special-news[.]online?

special-news[.]online is virtually identical to hundreds of other rogue websites such as redtext[.]biz, ciessimple[.]pro, and storynnews[.]com.

Once opened, the site redirects visitors to other untrusted websites or displays dubious content. Typically, sites such as special-news[.]online are opened by PUAs (potentially unwanted apps) and most people do not visit them intentionally. Furthermore, PUAs display intrusive ads and collect browsing data.

Seceno.com Ads

What is seceno[.]com?

Similar to redtext.biz, ciessimple.pro, storynnews.com, and many others, seceno[.]com is a rogue website designed to feed users with dubious content and redirect them to various other untrusted sites.

Research shows that many users visit seceno[.]com inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive advertisements delivered by other rogue sites. PUAs usually infiltrate computers without users' consent and, as well as causing redirects, deliver intrusive advertisements and gather data.

Redtext.biz Ads

What is redtext[.]biz?

redtext[.]biz is one of many untrustworthy, rogue web pages that redirects visitors to other dubious sites. Its operation is similar to nextyourcontent[.]com, tinhoranding[.]info, usecytonsmehers[.]info and many other sites of this type. In most cases, people who visit these sites are redirected to them by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs).

I.e., users do not generally visit them intentionally. In addition to unwanted redirects, PUAs usually display ads and record information.

Ciessimple.pro Ads

What is ciessimple[.]pro?

ciessimple[.]pro is a rogue website designed to redirect visitors to other untrusted sites and deliver dubious content. It is very similar to newsfrog.me, bodlift.com, peegh1o.com, and dozens of other rogue sites.

Most visitors arrive at ciessimple[.]pro inadvertently, as they are redirected by intrusive advertisements (displayed on other rogue sites) or potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) already present on the system. PUAs usually infiltrate systems without permission. In addition to causing redirects, they deliver intrusive advertisements and monitor browsing activity.

mBytes System Care Unwanted Application

What is mBytes System Care?

mBytes System Care is one of many tools that supposedly optimizes operating systems and keeps them running smoothly without errors.

In fact, this program is promoted by including it into set-ups of other software. People usually download and install these bundled programs unintentionally. For this reason, mBytes System Care belongs to the category of potentially unwanted applications (PUAs).
