World Ransomware

What is World?

World ransomware is a type of malware that prevents victims from accessing their files by encrypting them. It renames all encrypted files and provides instructions about how to contact the developers. World renames files by adding the victim's ID, worldsnake@cock.li email address, and appending the ".world" extension to their filenames.

For example, "1.jpg" is renamed to "1.jpg.id-C279F237.[worldsnake@cock.li].world", "2.jpg" to "2.jpg.id-C279F237.[worldsnake@cock.li].world", and so on. It also creates the "FILES ENCRYPTED.txt" text file and displays a pop-up window, both of which are ransom messages that include information about how to contact the developers.

Note that World belongs to the family of ransomware called Dharma.

For example, "1.jpg" is renamed to "1.jpg.[9B83AE23].[helpforyou@firemail.cc].fireee", "2.jpg" to "2.jpg.[9B83AE23].[helpforyou@firemail.cc].fireee", and so on.

It creates the "readme-warning.txt" text file (ransom message) in all folders that contain encrypted files. Note that Fireee ransomware is a part of the ransomware family called Makop.
