Ilividlive.com Redirect

What is ilividlive.com?
Ilivid Live is a deceptive application claiming to provide access to a huge database of movie-related information (reviews, summaries, etc.). At first glance, this app might seem legitimate and useful, however, be aware that Ilivid Live is categorized as a browser hijacker and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
This is due to the app's behavior, which includes installation without users' consent (using pop-up ads), modification of browser settings, and tracking of Internet browsing activity.
After installing to the browsers, Ilivid Live modifies the Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox new tab URL, homepage, and default search engine browser settings by assigning them to ilividlive.com. A number of applications/browser extensions (called 'helper objects') are additionally installed to prevent users from rolling back these changes.
This browser hijacker continually redirects to ilividlive.com when users open new browser tabs or simply attempt to search the internet via the URL bar. As users' are redirected without their consent, the presence of Ilivid Live significantly diminishes the Internet browsing experience.
In addition, this PUP gathers various Internet browsing-related information. According to the developers (InMind Inc.), data collected by Ilivid Live is not personally identifiable.
This PUP tracks Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar data might contain personal details (which are shared with third parties who can misuse it to generate revenue). Having Ilivid Live installed on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
If you are concerned with your privacy and Internet browsing safety, you should eliminate this PUP.
Ilivid Live shares many similarities with other applications of the same type. For instance, searchpile.com, www-searching.com, and emaildefendsearch.com also claim to be legitimate websites. In fact, these browser hijackers provide none of the functionality promised.
As with Ilivid Live, they cause unwanted browser redirects, collect personal data, and sometimes generate intrusive online advertisements. They are designed to generate revenue for the developers - users receive no real value.
How did ilividlive.com install on my computer?
Ilivid Live is free for anyone to download on its official website. Yet, most users install this application inadvertently. The developers employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of third party applications with regular software/apps), and therefore, Ilivid Live usually infiltrates systems without users' permission.
The problem is that many users are careless when downloading and installing software. They rush these processes and skip most/all steps, unaware that rogue applications will probably be hidden. This behavior often results in inadvertent installation of PUPs including Ilivid Live. In doing so, users compromise their privacy and expose their systems to risk of further infection.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The key to computer safety is caution. Never rush when downloading and installing software. Select the the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings during these processes and closely analyze each step. Third party applications hidden within this section are mostly rogue, and therefore, you should cancel them.
