FindsPro Ads

What is FindsPro?
According to the developers, FindsPro saves time and money when shopping online - "FindsPro helps you get live price comparison with the products you are searching online. We cover hundreds of millions of products from dozens of online merchants. Simply search for your desired product and FindPro will locate a the best finds for you."
These false claims are used to give the impression that FindsPro is a legitimate and useful app. In fact, this app is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
There are three main reasons for these negative associations: 1) FindsPro infiltrates systems and Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' permission; 2) it generates intrusive online advertisements, and; 3) it monitors users' Internet browsing activity.
FindsPro generates coupon, price comparison, pop-up, and other similar advertisements. Most redirect to websites offering certain features or various online stores, however, some may redirect to bogus sites containing infectious content. There is a high probability that clicking them will cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
The ads are generated using virtual layer, which allows placement of any third party graphical content on visited websites. None originate from the visited sites and conceal underlying content, thus significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience.
As with regular adware, FindsPro gathers information relating to users' Internet browsing activity including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, URLs visited, search queries entered into search engines, and pages viewed. This information is shared with third parties, might be personally identifiable, and can be misused to generate revenue.
Thus, having FindsPro installed on your computer may lead to serious privacy issues. For these reasons, we strongly recommend that you uninstall this adware immediately.
There are hundreds of other PUPs offering identical features - supposedly to save time and money. They include Safe Browsing, CandyBox, FirstOffer, and Oh My Coupons. These apps also display special deals and provide price comparison functionality, however, false claims to enhance the browsing experience are simply attempts to trick users to install.
None provide the functionality promised. Adware-type apps are designed solely to generate revenue for the developers (by collecting personally identifiable information and delivering intrusive online advertisements).
How did FindsPro install on my computer?
The developers employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of PUPs with regular software/apps) to install FindsPro without users' permission.
Developers hide rogue applications such as FindsPro within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings, since they are aware that many users do not pay enough attention when downloading and installing software. By rushing these processes and skipping this section, users often inadvertently install PUPs. In doing so, they expose their systems to high-risk adware or malware infections.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Firstly, download the desired software from a trusted source - usually the official website. Furthermore, use the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings and closely analyze all steps, opting-out of any third party applications listed for installation (since they likely to be rogue). The key to computer safety is caution - never rush when downloading and installing software.
