What is Jabuticaba?

Jabuticaba is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) that supposedly allows users to collect 'points' while shopping online and redeem them for rewards - "Shopping online has never been more rewarding - or fun! Some users may believe that Jabuticaba is legitimate and useful software, however, it is classed as adware. Although Jabuticaba has an official download website, it often infiltrates systems without users' permission.

After successfully infiltrating Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, Jabuticaba displays intrusive online advertisements and gathers various types of information.

To display in-text, banner, coupon, and other similar advertisements, Jabuticaba employs a virtual layer, which enables placement of third party graphical content on any visited website. Jabuticaba adware removal:

Windows 11 users:

Remove malicious extensions from Google Chrome:

Click the Chrome menu icon (at the top right corner of Google Chrome), select "Tools" and click "Extensions". Locate all recently-installed suspicious browser add-ons, select these entries and click the trash can icon.

Optional method:

If you continue to have problems with removal of the jabuticaba adware, reset your Google Chrome browser settings. Click the Chrome menu icon  (at the top right corner of Google Chrome) and select Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Click the Advanced… link.
