Cinem Plus Ads

What is Cinem Plus?
Cinem Plus is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) that supposedly enhances the Internet browsing experience by improving the quality of online videos. On initial inspection, this functionality may seem legitimate and useful, however, Cinem Plus is classed as adware.
This negative association is made due to rogue behavior exhibited by this PUP. After stealth infiltration on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox), Cinem Plus displays intrusive online advertisements and tracks Internet browsing activity.
This adware diminishes the Internet browsing experience by displaying pop-up, coupons, price comparison, banner, and other similar ads. To display these ads, Cinem Plus employs a virtual layer allowing placement of third party graphical content on any visited website.
The displayed ads conceal the underlying website content, and thus, clicking them may redirect users to rogue sites containing infectious content. Rather than providing the advertised features (for example, price discounts), there is a high probability that clicking these ads will cause further computer infections.
In addition, this browser plug-in collects various software and hardware information that may be personally identifiable - this data is later shared with third parties who can misuse it to generate revenue. Therefore, having an information-tracking app installed on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall Cinem Plus adware from your system.
Most adware-type plug-ins such as Cinem Plus have similar characteristics. Some apps are identical - including CinemaPlusPro, Cinema Video, and Cinema Now. Although adware apps claim to enhance the Internet browsing experience, none provide any real value.
Adware-type applications are developed to generate revenue for the developers by displaying advertisements (via the 'Pay Per Click' - PPC - advertising model) and collecting personally identifiable data (which is later shared with third parties to generate revenue).
How did Cinem Plus install on my computer?
This bogus app is distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'. Bundling allows developers to stealthily install their software without users' permission, and since many users do not express enough caution when downloading and installing software, this method is very effective.
Many users are unaware that apps such as Cinem Plus are concealed within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings - by skipping these steps, they inadvertently install rogue programs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Closely analyze the download and installation processes. Closely follow each step when downloading software and decline all offers to install additional programs. Furthermore, applications should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any hidden applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out.
