Plain Savings Ads

What is Plain Savings?
Plain Savings is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) claiming to enhance the Internet browsing experience by enabling features such as coupons or comparison shopping. This plug-in may appear legitimate and useful, however, Plain Savings is classed as adware.
These associations are made due to a deceptive free software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of third-party apps together with the chosen software) employed by this adware to install on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' permission.
Once installed, Plain Savings displays numerous intrusive online advertisements including banner, pop-up, transitional, interstitial, search, and full-page ads. It is highly probable that clicking these generated advertisements will cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
Plain Savings is regular adware and continually monitors and records various information regarding Internet browsing. For example: IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries, etc.
This collected data may include personally identifiable details, and therefore, the behavior of this PUP can result in serious privacy issues or identity theft. Plain Savings is one of several hundred rogue applications developed by SuperWeb LLC.
This company releases identical browser add-ons under different names (for example, Coupon Time, Ski Search, Edu App, etc.) to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware suites.
These apps provide no significant value for the user - their purpose is to display advertisements and share collected data with third parties to generate revenue. You are strongly advised to eliminate Plain Savings from your system immediately.
Close examination of Plain Savings reveals that it is mostly distributed via small programs called 'download clients' on freeware download websites such as download.com, softonic.com, etc.
Download clients are used to monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of advertised (according to the developers, '100% legitimate and virus-free') browser plug-ins together with the chosen free software. Despite these statements, reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
To prevent this situation, closely analyse each step of the free software download procedure and decline all offers to install additional apps. Furthermore, installation of downloaded programs should be performed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options - this will reveal any hidden applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out.
