What is Express Find?
The developers of Express Find (SuperWeb LLC) state that this browser add-on will improve the Internet browsing experience by enabling comparison shopping, coupons, and other similar features. This may seem legitimate and useful functionality, however, be aware that Express Find is classed as adware.
This association is made due to a distribution method called 'bundling' employed by Express Find to infiltrate Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox). After installation on these browsers without users' consent, Express Find tracks Internet browsing activity and generates intrusive online ads.
Information collected by this adware includes URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered into search engines (Yahoo, Google, Bing, etc.), unique identifier numbers, and so on. This recorded information may include personally-identifiable details, and therefore, the behavior of this add-on can result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
Furthermore, advertisements generated by Express Find (for instance, banners, pop-ups, search, interstitial, transitional, and full-page) are likely to enforce redirects to rogue websites and cause further computer infections.
SuperWeb LLC has released several hundred identical potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) including Special Box, Primary Result, Zoom Zoom, and Swift Record. None of these are useful to the user - their purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive ads and sharing collected information with third parties.
Currently, most adware such as Express Find is distributed via small programs called 'download clients' employed by freeware download websites as traffic and free services monetization tools. Download clients offer installation of additional programs when downloading free software.
The advertised applications often claim to be 'legitimate and virus-free', however, most are categorized as adware or malware. To prevent installation of Express Find, and other similar adware, follow each step when downloading free software and ensure that no other software is included.
You should also install downloaded programs using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed Express Find, the following removal guide will help you to remove this adware from your system.
