VideoFox Ads

What is VideosFox?
VideosFox is a rogue browser extension claiming to enhance users' online video watching experience. While this functionality may seem legitimate and useful, be aware that VideosFox is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
The developers of VideosFox employ a deceptive marketing method called 'bundling' to install this software on Internet browsers without users' consent.
After successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, intrusive online advertisements are generated including banner, pop-up, coupons, and price comparison ads, all of which may lead to further computer infections.
Furthermore, VideosFox collects various browsing-related information that may be personally identifiable. For example: IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered, browser type, operating system, and other details. This information tracking can result in serious privacy issues or identity theft.
There are many applications claiming to enable similar features. For example: iTubedownload, Deals Finder, and Shopzone.
These applications (including VideosFox) provide no significant value for the user - their purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected data with third parties. Therefore, you are strongly advised to uninstall VideosFox from your Internet browsers.
Today, most popular freeware download websites such as download.com, softonic.com, and soft32.com, monetize their free services via small programs called 'download managers' that offer installation of additional applications during download of free software.
Although these promoted applications are stated to be '100% legitimate and virus-free', reckless download and installation of freeware often leads to high-risk adware or malware infections. To avoid installation of VideosFox, be attentive during download of free software and click 'Decline' if installation of any additional programs is offered.
Furthermore, when installing downloaded software, use the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any concealed applications listed for installation and allow you to uncheck them.
If you have installed 'VideosFox', and you observe intrusive online ads, read the removal instructions provided and uninstall this adware from your system.
