What is BrowseStudio?
Created by SuperWeb LLC, BrowseStudio is a rogue browser extension claiming to enhance the Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other functions. On initial inspection, this functionality may seem legitimate, however, be aware that BrowseStudio is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program.
These associations are made due to a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen software) employed by BrowseStudio to install on Internet browsers without users' consent.
Following successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, BrowseStudio generates numerous intrusive online advertisements including banner, search, pop-up, interstitial, transitional, and full-page ads. There is a high probability that clicking advertisements generated by BrowseStudio will lead to high-risk adware or malware infections.
In addition, users' Internet browsing activity is continually monitored, since this rogue browser plug-in collects various software and hardware information including IP addresses (to determine users' geographic locations), unique identifier numbers, website URLs visited, search queries entered, pages viewed, and other similar data that is likely to be personally identifiable.
This information tracking may result in serious privacy issues or identity theft. SuperWeb LLC has released over one hundred rogue browser add-ons identical to BrowseStudio (for example, AppEnable, Forever Net, and Lite Web).
None of these applications (including BrowseStudio) provide any real value for the user - this company intentionally releases identical browser plug-ins under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware suites.
The purpose of these applications is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads, sharing collected information with third parties, and enforcing unwanted browser redirects. Therefore, you are strongly advised to eliminate BrowseStudio from your Internet browsers.
Research shows that most adware is distributed via small download programs (called 'download managers', 'download clients', 'installers', etc.) on freeware download websites.
Download programs are used to monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of promoted (according to the developers, '100% legitimate and useful') browser extensions together with the chosen software. Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be prevented by closely observing each step of the free software download procedure and never accepting installation of any additional programs offered.
Furthermore, all software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out.
If your computer is infected with BrowseStudio, and you observe 'Ads by BrowseStudio', 'Powered by BrowseStudio', and 'BrowseStudio Deals' while surfing the Internet, read the following removal guide and uninstall this adware from your Internet browsers.
