Savings Downloader Ads

What is Savings Downloader?
The Savings Downloader application displays link ads and pop-ups with various offers. Developers of this program claim that by installing it you will not miss coupons and sales offers on popular shopping websites such as Target or Walmart.
This functionality may appear to be useful, however, this app is bundled with free software, and therefore, computer users often install it inadvertently without their consent. Dubious advertising such as this has created a bad reputation for Savings Downloader - many computer users believe it is a virus or malware infiltration.
In fact, this browser plug-in is not a virus - it is an unwanted application that installs together with free software or other browser add-ons.
To avoid this type of unwanted software, closely inspect each installation window and uncheck any option pertaining to installation of additional browser plug-ins or modification to your Internet browser settings.
While Savings Downloader is not technically a virus, using this browser add-on is not recommended, since clicking offers presented by this plug-in may lead to privacy problems or installation of additional unwanted software.
Research shows that most adware such as Savings Downloader is distributed via small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites including download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, etc.
Download managers are used to monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of advertised (according to the developers, '100% legitimate') browser extensions together with the chosen free software. Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be prevented by closely inspecting each step of the free software download procedure and clicking 'Decline' if installation of any additional applications is offered.
Furthermore, all software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out.
If you have installed Savings Downloader and you observe 'Ads by Savings Downloader', 'Powered by Savings Downloader', and 'Savings Downloader Deals' advertisements while surfing the Internet, read the removal instructions provided and eliminate this adware from your Internet browsers.
