EnterDigital Ads

What is EnterDigital?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, EnterDigital is a rogue browser add-on claiming to enhance the Internet browsing experience by enabling comparison shopping, coupons, and other functions. Although this may seem legitimate and useful functionality, be aware that EnterDigital is considered to be a potentially unwanted program (PUP) or adware.
This rogue plug-in employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional applications together with the chosen software) to install on Internet browsers without users' consent.
Following successful installation on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, EnterDigital generates various intrusive online advertisements such as banner, interstitial, search, transitional, pop-up, and full-page ads. It is highly probable that clicking advertisements generated by EnterDigital will cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
Additionally, users' Internet browsing activity is continually monitored, since EnterDigital tracks various software and hardware information, including IP addresses (to determine geographic locations), website URLs visited, search queries entered into search engines, pages viewed, unique identifier numbers, and other similar details that may be personally identifiable.
This information tracking may lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. Be aware that SuperWeb LLC has released several hundred potentially unwanted programs identical to EnterDigital including, for example, Eye Perform, AppSuper, Techgile, and Surf Slide.
None of these (including EnterDigital) add any real value for the user - this company intentionally releases identical browser extensions under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus programs.
The purpose of these applications is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected information with third parties. Therefore, Internet users are strongly advised to eliminate EnterDigital from their browsers.
Close examination of EnterDigital reveals that it is mostly distributed via small programs called 'download clients' on freeware download websites such as softonic.com, download.com, and soft32.com.
Download clients are used by these websites as free services monetization tools, since they offer installation of advertised '100% legitimate and virus-free' browser plug-ins together with the chosen free software. Thus, careless download and installation of freeware frequently results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be avoided by closely observing each step of the free software download procedure and clicking 'Decline' if installation of any additional programs is offered. Furthermore, if you are installing downloaded software, select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out.
If your computer is infected with EnterDigital, and you observe 'Ads by EnterDigital', 'Powered by EnterDigital', and 'EnterDigital Deals' advertisements while browsing the Internet, follow the removal guide provided to uninstall this adware from your system.
