What is DealGest?
Developed by Savepath Deals, DealGest is a potentially unwanted application distributed using fake downloads and deceptive free software 'download clients'. The software commonly installs on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' consent.

After successful infiltration, this browser plug-in causes various unwanted intrusive coupon ads including Jollywallet coupon ads, pop-up ads, Interyield in-text ads, and Ads not by this site when users visit shopping websites. Clicking these third party advertisements can result in privacy issues or installation of malware.
Furthermore, DealGest is known to track users' Internet browsing activity, and therefore, the presence of this software on your system can lead to identity theft.
At time of research, this rogue browser extension was proliferated using fake Internet browser updates, which displayed deceptive pop-up ads stating that the Internet browser is out-of-date, and then attempting to trick the user into downloading DealGest.
This browser plug-in is not technically a virus or malware, however, having it installed on your Internet browsers can result in serious security and privacy issues. For these reasons, you are advised to eliminate this adware from your computer.
