Hatchiho Ads

What is Hatchiho?
Created by SuperWeb LLC, Hatchiho is a rogue browser extension claiming to improve users' Internet browsing experience by displaying website trust ratings, enabling comparison shopping, coupons, and adding other useful functionality. Although Hatchiho may seem a legitimate add-on, be aware that it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted application.
This rogue browser add-on is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome and employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install on these browsers without users' consent.
Following successful installation, Hatchiho monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording various software and hardware information such as URLs visited, search queries entered, pages viewed, IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, and other similar information.
In addition, it generates various intrusive online advertisements including banner, search, text-link, interstitial, transitional, and full page ads.
Having adware such as Hatchiho installed on your computer may lead to serious privacy issues, identity theft, or malware infections. At time of research, SuperWeb LLC has released over one hundred rogue browser add-ons identical to Hatchiho (for example, EnhanceSoft, Glomatron, and Okiitan), all of which are useless for the user.
This company releases identical browser plug-ins under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware software. The main purpose of these browser plugins is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Most potentially unwanted applications are distributed via 'download clients' within freeware download websites including, for example, download.com soft32.com, softonic.com, and many others.
The majority of these websites employ these small programs to monetize their free services by offering installation of promoted browser extensions along with the chosen free software. In most cases, reckless download and installation of freeware results in adware or malware infections.
Therefore, to avoid installation of Hatchiho, or other similar adware, closely inspect each step of freeware download and click 'Decline' when installation of additional applications is offered.
During installation of downloaded software, select the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any applications attempting to infiltrate to your computer via stealth installation, and you will be able to decline them.
Users who observe "Ads by Hatchiho", "Hatchiho Deals", and "Powered by Hatchiho" advertisements when browsing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to eliminate Hatchiho adware from their Internet browser/s.
