Savings Scout Pop-up Ads

What is Savings Scout?
The Savings Scout browser add-on displays various coupon and deals advertisements when users visit online shopping websites. Developed by 215 Apps (Innovative Apps), it is compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.
While the added functionality (and potential to save money when shopping online) may seem legitimate, in fact, Savings Scout is categorized as adware.
Creators of this browser extension 'bundle' it together with free software, and therefore, most Internet users feel that Savings Scout was installed on their computers without their consent. Moreover, this add-on diminishes Internet browser performance and may case serious privacy issues.
Today, the majority of free software download websites (such as download.com, soft32.com, etc.) use 'download clients' to monetize their free software downloads. These download clients often promote free browser add-on (such as Savings Scout), and some use a deceptive user interface (that hides the 'decline' button).
Thus, computer users should be attentive when downloading free software. Savings Scout is not a computer virus or malware, however, it is a potentially unwanted application and should be eliminated from your Internet browser/s.
Savings Scout is similar to other adware created by 215 App including Savings Wave, Coupon Slider, DealDropDown, and many others. These browser add-ons are being promoted using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'.
The best way to avoiding installation of such potentially unwanted browser plugins is to inspect each installation step of free software downloaded from the Internet. If your download is managed by a download client, look for the 'decline' button - this will allow you to skip installation of promoted applications (commonly, adware).
When installing freeware, ensure that you choose the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - doing so will reveal any bundled browser add-ons. If you already observe coupon ads generated by Savings Scout, and wish to eliminate them, use the removal guide provided.
