Deals Plugin Adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Deals Plugin?
Deals Plugin is a browser extension developed by Amazing Apps (215 Apps) and promises to save time and money when shopping online. This browser add-on displays coupon and deal ads when Internet users visit online shopping websites.
Whilst such functionality may seem legitimate, many computer users report that Deals Plugin was installed on their Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without their consent.
Unwilling installation such as this may be caused by a deceptive marketing method called 'bundling'. Potentially unwanted programs such as Deals Plugin often self-install together with free software downloaded from the Internet.
Today, many download websites use download clients, offering installation of additional software when downloading free software from their websites. Furthermore, some download clients (installers) use deceptive methods to encourage users to install additional software or browser add-ons.
If you are unable to opt-out of any promoted software installation, cancel the process and download the freeware from another, more legitimate, source. Deals Plugin is not technically considered to be a virus, however, its deceptive marketing method categorizes this browser add-on as a potentially unwanted program.
While the idea of saving money when shopping online may seem useful, we recommend removing Deals Plugin from your system, since installation of this browser add-on is often unwilling. Moreover, this browser extension tracks users' Internet browsing activity and this could lead to privacy issues.
This potentially unwanted program is similar to other add-ons created by 215 Apps including Savings Vault, Instant Savings App, Lucky Savings, and many others. If you feel that Deals Plugin was installed on your computer without your permission, use the removal instructions provided to eliminate this adware from your computer.
