What is Coupon Companion?
The Coupon Companion browser extension is developed by 215 Apps. Creators of this browser plug-in claim that it helps to save money and time whilst shopping online. This browser add-on displays coupon deals when computer users visit online shopping websites.
Note that this plug-in is not malicious and not technically a virus or spyware, however, computer users often install this plug-in inadvertently and without their consent. This situation can happen when computer users do not pay close enough attention when installing free software downloaded from the Internet.
Coupon Companion is often bundled with various freeware. To avoid installation of this unwanted browser add-on, computer users should inspect each installation step of free software and disallow installation of additional browser extensions (also opt-out any of any options suggesting changes to Internet browser settings).
Coupon Companion is similar to my super cheap, save by click, and many other unwanted coupon ads-related browser extensions.
There are two ways in which Coupon companion can be installed on systems: 1) legitimate method (when users download the extension from the homepage and are aware of its installation), and; 2) deceptive method (when the extension is bundled with free software and the user installs it unwillingly).
Unwanted browser extensions are often bundled with YouTube video downloader clients, torrent clients, and other free software. If you feel that you have installed Coupon Companion inadvertently without your consent, and are annoyed by the unwanted ads, use this removal guide to eliminate this extension from your computer.
